righteousmomma
It s very difficult to answer such a profound and fundamental question as Casino sincerely asks here about the necessity of the bodily resurrection of Jesus in a coffee shop posting . So very simplistically put: Jesus is the Son of God - that is a way of saying He is God. He is legal owner and heir to everything in creation and the spiritual realm. The Bible teaches that Jesus existed as God with God the Father long before the universe was created. And then about 2000 years ago Jesus , the Son of God was born into our world and became the Son of man - a true human being. Jesus was born to die for our sins so that we and creation could be restored and reconciled back to God. Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away our sin when we accept His sacrifice on the cross. When we receive Him individually as our Savior and Lord we become "new creatures/creations in Christ Jesus". He has redeemed us by His death. The same Holy Spirit (God) Power that resurrected Jesus comes to live within each of us and we are born into God's Forever Family. So just as the Incarnation (God coming to live among us in human form) was vital. The Resurrection is even more vital. Without Him being raised from the dead our faith is futile and n vain. It is the most important of all Christian doctrines. Jesus the Christ (Messiah) died and returned to life so that He might be Lord of the dead and the living. He has universal authority far above all rule and power and dominion (Ephesians). He has complete authority. He has personal authority over us when we accept and receive Him.
Casino67
I tried to post a question to Valin's last post and got this: "The number of opening quote tags does not match the number of closing quote tags." What do it mean?? Anyway, the post was just asking if Josh went into 'It's a mystery." any further?

They must be deleted in matching pairs, preferably with the the correct matching open or closing one so the left over quotes come out correctly. Each level of quoting surrounds itself by a quote and then /quote when done.

nickydog
So that we ( humans) are also resurrected. Jesus the Christ was the new Adam. So that we ( humans) are also resurrected. Jesus the Christ was the new Adam. Thanks, but my question was why his entire physical body? Our physical bodies will also be resurrected. The one we have now or can we pick a better time? sorry, just my sorry humor. I've always wondered about that. Which one will God choose? I don't think the Creator would skimp on resurrecting bodies. I've always understood the resurrection of the body to be at the prime of your life, but if you will not want for anything, why would that matter. Maybe it will be when you felt the most at peace, or clear minded, satisfied, etc. I remember reading in the Old Testament, about a prophet that the One God had promised, would deliver His people by creating an army from the bones of long dead, Jewish warriors. As the prophet watched...old bones grew sinew, then skin & then became animated....all while a great wind blew & the sounds of thunder abounded. Good thoughts,SrWoodchuck. It's been quite a number of years since I read that particular book Evidence That Demands a Verdict, Volume 1: Historical Evidences for the Christian Faith but as I recall he does. My point is so many non believers go into some real intellectual gymnastic to try and get around the empty tomb.

righteousmomma
I have "Evidence That Demands A Verdict" and the second one "More Evidence That Requires A Verdict" as well as his book The Resurrection Factor. The mystery is the empty tomb- except for the burial cloths. A tomb sealed by the Romans and by a huge stone. A tomb guarded by highly disciplined Roman soldiers. A tomb that had held the badly beaten dead body of Jesus covered in heavy hastily applied embalming herbs etc. Dead without a doubt because according to witnesses a lance had been thrust into his side and water and blood had flowed out ( indicating His pericardium had been pierced) Yet 3 days later he appears to several who had known Him and later to over 500. The mystery is how faith in Him and His Resurrection revolutionized the world and continues today to give hope to millions. This life is not all there is. Obviously you are not aware of the restorative powers inherent in rock tombs! Take a guy beat him within an inch of his life, crucify him, stick him in the heart with a spear, put him in a rock tomb and 3 days later out he comes looking like he has had a great nights sleep and a fine breakfast! If only science could harness the power of rock tombs, what a boon to mankind this would be. some slight sarcasm may be present

The19-year-old was caught on tape in Beverly Hills Tuesday hurling racist and homophobic insults at a photographer while with his famous father. While the elder Penn ignored a videographer who was trailing him into a building, his son apparently took issue with the paparazzi invading his space. Pigford is just one of the ways money is being redistributed to the aggrieved parties from the descendents of the oppressors. saveliberty
A blessed Easter to all our readers posted at 12:01 am on March 31, 2013 by Ed Morrissey When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?” But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’” — Mark 16 1-
