With the race for the White House entering the home stretch, Hillary Clinton and her surrogates have been intensifying their attacks on Donald Trump and his campaign staff. So have many members of the news media, who are happy to write smear pieces about Trump’s advisors. Witness Ruth Marcus branding Trump deputy campaign manager David Bossie “the Captain Ahab of Clinton haters.” Marcus might think it’s a clever literary reference to compare Bossie to Herman Melville’s fictional whale hunter, who is obsessed with killing Moby Dick to the point of fanaticism. But Clinton’s cheerleaders in the media seem perfectly willing to excuse fanaticism and obsession in their own ranks.

 

They have remained remarkably silent about one of the most powerful members of Hillary’s own team: David Brock, whose unscrupulous tactics and shadowy empire suggest another literary comparison. Bearing in mind the tyrannical ruler of a far-flung trading post in Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness, one might call Brock the Mr. Kurtz of conservative haters.

Clinton ally offers money for information on Trump

 

Clinton-ally David Brock has launched a new site modeled after WikiLeaks that offers cash rewards in exchange for information about Donald Trump, NBC News reported.

 

The site, called Trump Leaks, was created by Brock’s pro-Clinton super-PAC Correct the Record and is calling for tipsters to provide damaging information about Trump, though they call only for information obtained legally.

 

"We're chasing everything," Brock told NBC.

 

Correct the Record has not specified how much they are willing to pay for intel.

“BASKET OF DEPLORABLES,” DAVID BROCK EDITION

 

David Brock, who runs neck-and-neck with Sid Blumenthal for the prime spot in Hillary Clinton’s “basket of deplorables,” has repeatedly asked for an inquiry into the Trump Foundation. Fair enough. But how about an inquiry into the affairs of David Brock and his Media Matters operation?

 

There are solid grounds for such an investigation. Brock may well have engaged in money laundering and he paid his ex-boyfriend $850,000 not to go to the IRS with damaging information about how Brock was running his Media Matters empire. In addition, though this predates Media Matters, he stands accused of illegally obtaining phone records.

 

The essence of the money laundering allegation is this:

 

(1) Brock operates over a dozen pro-Clinton organizations from his office in Washington, D.C.

 

(2) Records expose a constant flow of money between his organizations.

 

(3) Brock’s unregistered Professional Solicitor, the Bonner Group, receives a 12.5% cut every time money is moved.
