In case anyone’s still bitterly clinging to the “botched sting” theory of this clusterfark, cling no longer:

According to documents obtained by Fox News, Agent John Dodson was ordered to buy six semi-automatic Draco pistols — two of those were purchased at the Lone Wolf gun store in Peoria, Ariz. An unusual sale, Dodson was sent to the store with a letter of approval from David Voth, an ATF group supervisor.

Dodson then sold the weapons to known illegal buyers, while fellow agents watched from their cars nearby.

Document Dump: White House in Heavy Communication About Operation Fast and Furious

New documents from the White House show extensive communications between for Special Agent in Charge William Newell, who has since been promoted to a cushy position within the Obama Justice Department in Washington D.C., and White House national security team staff about Operation Fast and Furious. In the video above, Obama claims it is his administration's policy to "catch gunrunners and put them into jail," when in fact ATF and DOJ policy under Obama has been exactly the opposite. ATF agents were told by senior officials to allow gunrunners to put high powered weapons into the hands of ruthless cartels, not to arrest them and to allow them to go back into Mexico.

The documents show extensive communications between then-ATF Special Agent in Charge of the Phoenix office Bill Newell - who led Fast and Furious - and then-White House National Security Staffer Kevin O'Reilly. Emails indicate the two also spoke on the phone. Such detailed, direct communications between a local ATF manager in Phoenix and a White House national security staffer has raised interest among Congressional investigators looking into Fast and Furious. Newell has said he and O'Reilly are long time friends.

 

William Newell admitted during testimony on Capitol Hill in July that the White House had in fact been in contact with him about Operation Fast and Furious. Newell even referred to Kevin O'Reilly as, "a good friend." Previous to Newell's admission, the White House denied any knowledge or authorization of Operation Fast and Furious. Once Newell said he was in contact with O'Reilly, the White House then claimed O'Reilly and two other White House national security staffers knew about the program but didn't know "details."

 

Now, we know that White House National Security Staffer Kevin O'Reilly was heavily briefed about the details of the operation through emails and phone calls.

This map, revealed in the White House document dump I reported about earlier today,shows the path of guns sent by ATF into Mexico from Arizona. Former Special Agent in Charge of the Phoenix Field Office has said over and over again under oath, that at no point didn't ATF allow guns to be trafficked into Mexico.

 

July 26, 2011:

 

“At no time in our strategy was it to allow guns to be taken to Mexico,” Newell said, adding that at no time did his agency allow guns to walk

This is so incredibly huge. These people thought they had it ALLLLL figured out. That they'd be able to use this to their own political ends.... consequences be dammed.

If I understand it correctly, the problem was there was no plan to track these guns after they crossed the border....which begs the question...What The Bleep Were They Thinking.

Where the guns where going does not even seem to be part of their concern in these high level emails. Just wanted to map out the infrastructure and eventually (I guess) try and take down the big wigs.

The emails show three different 'subjects'. Wicked One and GRIT Surge Phoenix. Were they both the same or do they refer to two different operations?
