we had one that was supposed to go on the 13th too but all executions are off for six months here due to kind of mess up on last one. I still don't think he suffered enough for what he did.

Bring back hanging, firing squads and guillotines. Then we won't have to worry about some drug company caving to the leftists.

Confronted on Execution, Texas Proudly Says It Kills Efficiently

By MANNY FERNANDEZ and JOHN SCHWARTZ

MAY 12, 2014

HUNTSVILLE, Tex. — If Texas executes Robert James Campbell as planned on Tuesday, for raping and murdering a woman, it will be the nation’s first execution since Oklahoma’s bungled attempt at lethal injection two weeks ago left a convicted murderer writhing and moaning before he died.

Lawyers for Mr. Campbell are trying to use the Oklahoma debacle to stop the execution here. But many in this state and in this East Texas town north of Houston, where hundreds have been executed in the nation’s busiest death chamber, like to say they do things right.

For two years now, Texas has used a single drug, the barbiturate pentobarbital, instead of the three-drug regimen used in neighboring Oklahoma. Prison administrators from other states often travel here to learn how Texas performs lethal injections and to observe executions. Scissors-32x32.png

HUNTSVILLE -- A federal appeals court halted the scheduled execution of a convicted killer in Texas on Tuesday so his attorneys can pursue appeals he is mentally impaired and ineligible for the death penalty.

Robert James Campbell, 41, would have been the first U.S. inmate executed since a botched execution in Oklahoma two weeks ago. His two appeals challenged the state's plan to use a drug for which it will not reveal the source, as was the case with drugs used in Oklahoma, and claims of mental impairment.

"I am happy. The Lord prevailed," Campbell said from a cell just outside the death chamber in Huntsville.

The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals halted his punishment about 2 1/2 hours before he could have been taken to the Texas death chamber, saying Campbell and his lawyers haven't had a fair opportunity to develop the mental impairment claims.

The appeal before the 5th Circuit contended Campbell isn't mentally competent for execution because he has a 69 IQ. Courts generally set a 70 IQ as the minimum threshold. Campbell's attorneys filed a petition to the Supreme Court even before the 5th Circuit ruled on that issue.

Death penalty opponents, have I got a deal for you!

By Ann Coulter 5/14/2014 4:06pm

As described in last week’s column, the New York Times and other sanctimonious news outlets censored details about the crime that put Clayton Lockett on death row, the better to generate revulsion at his deserved execution. You might say they buried the facts alive.

For example, the Times neglected to mention anything about the raping that preceded the murdering, which seems odd for a newspaper so consumed with the “War on Women.” (At least Lockett never refused to pay for a woman’s birth control pills!)

The Times also dropped the part about Lockett’s dangerous behavior while incarcerated, such as ordering hits on the witnesses against him, his threats to kill prison guards, and the bounty of homemade weapons seized from him in prison — saw blades, sharpened wires, shivs, and shanks. (Old Times motto: “All the News That’s Fit to Print.” New Times motto: “Nobody Likes a Rat.”)

The newspaper also failed to report that Lockett had ended up in an adult prison by the age of 16 and then was convicted of four more felonies before committing the torture-murder of Stephanie Neiman that sent him to death row Scissors-32x32.pnghttp://www.humanevents.com/2014/05/14/death-penalty-opponents-have-i-got-a-deal-for-you/

I don't believe anything about rape came out in his trial, if he did rape someone it wasn't Stephanie Nieman, he killed her because she refused to promise she wouldn't tell the police about him. He shot her once in the shoulder and it didn't kill her so he had one of his buddies dig a grave then shot her again and buried her alive and laughed about it. Big deal he didn't have a perfect childhood, who does anyway. He got exactly what he deserved. Too bad they didn't go ahead and do the guy that was to follow an hour later.

Affirmative Action Death Penalty for Minority Murderers

September 2, 2014 by Daniel Greenfield

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is a New York writer focusing on radical Islam. He is completing a book on the international challenges America faces in the 21st century.

The left’s ideas may be insane, but they usually function in a linear fashion. This is one of those cases where their ideas are appropriated and used with strange results. The recent trend of lawyers attempting to reclassify every death row killer as mentally retarded based on IQ tests is another of the noxious efforts by the left to undermine the justice system.

IQ tests weren’t meant to decide who lives or dies (nor are they foolproof) and the left’s insistence on using them that way was strange. There’s also no credible reason why a rapist and murderer Scissors-32x32.png
