Michelle Said to be Considering an Extended Vacation

Keith Koffler

May 22, 2013

With scandal swirling about the White House, First Lady Michelle Obama may be considering an extended exit from Washington this summer, fleeing for weeks to the Obamas traditional summer haven, Marthas Vineyard.

According to the Boston Globe, Michelle Obama and the children may be on the island for an extended period. But the president would hardly be suffering by comparison. He may come up on weekends and then stay for two weeks at the end of the summer, the Globe reports.

The Obamas are said to be eying a house in Farm Neck on the Vineyard. If they land there, the president will have easy access to the lovely Farm Neck Golf Club and Cafe. Heres the view from the tee on the third hole.

Welcome to the XXIst century. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way

Don't you mean..............the 8th Century, @Valin.........

Nope. These guys may think (and I use that word in its loosest sense) they want the 8th century (showing how little they know), but this couldn't really happen until the post WWII age. 100 years ago what happened in Chechnya didn't really matter, today it causes bombs to go off in Boston. While these guys are in revolt against the modern world, the thing is they need the modern world in order to commit these acts.

A one sentence forum post that appeared today in an Illinois Newspaper, "The Peoria Journal Star". It speaks volumes.

"A pen in the hand of this president is far more dangerous than a gun in the hands of 200 million law-abiding citizens."

Coming soon: The 3-D pizza printer

Ed Morrissey

5/22/13

Star Trek’s food replicators had to start somewhere, no? NASA wants to develop a 3-D printer for pizza, which will require powdered food substances for raw materials. They won’t have an issue with expiration dates, either, but you have to wonder how good a pizza might taste when created with 30-year-old powders:

EU performs abrupt U-turn on olive oil regulation
AP News | May 23, 2013

BRUSSELS (AP) — The EU has something important to say about its proposal to regulate olive oil on restaurant tables: Uh, never mind.

Last week, the European Commission, the EU's executive branch, said that restaurants should only be allowed to serve oil to customers in non-refillable bottles with proper content labeling. The refillable bottles are a staple on restaurant tables across Europe for diners who want to douse bread or salads.

On Thursday, the Commission said it was withdrawing the proposal because not enough member nations had supported it.

Obama’s New Energy Secretary: Global Warming “Not Debatable”…

New Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz doesn’t want to spend his tenure battling over climate science.

“Let me make it very clear that there is no ambiguity in terms of the scientific basis calling for a prudent response on climate change,” Moniz told Energy Department employees shortly after his swearing-in.

“I am not interested in debating what is not debatable,” Moniz said in his remarks at the Tuesday ceremony. “There is plenty to debate as we try and move forward on our climate agenda.”
