On Thursday, Vice President Kamala Harris copied the sentiments of President Joe Biden during an interview, suggesting that, in the absence of new voting rights measures being passed, the Nov 2022 midterm elections' results will be suspect.

"The president has been consistent on this issue," Kamala told host Savannah Guthrie, after Guthrie mentioned that she considered Biden's previous statements to be "astonishing."

Kamala added: "So what we’re looking at and the topic of so much debate last night was that we as America cannot afford to allow this blatant erosion of our democracy and in particular, the right of all Americans who are eligible to vote, to have access to the ballot unfettered. That is the topic of the conversation.
