Geee
NY Post In her new book, “Rigged: How the Media, Big Tech, and the Democrats Seized Our Elections,” Mollie Hemingway reveals how social-media companies like Twitter and Facebook responded to the 2016 election of Donald Trump to go from free-speech advocates to censors — including blocking The Post’s reporting on Hunter Biden. Here, an exclusive excerpt: Donald Trump’s 2016 victory was a shock to much of the country, but Silicon Valley took it especially hard. The progressive bastion of San Francisco had turned tech companies from libertarian idealists into liberal crusaders. The industry as a whole felt complicit in Donald Trump’s rise and was intent on doing everything in its power to suppress his voice and those of his supporters. From the beginning, the tech overlords were plotting how to strike back. In one meeting, Google founder Sergey Brin suggested that “Jigsaw,” a project Google had developed to combat Islamic terror propaganda, could be used to shape the opinions of Trump voters. By the time Trump was inaugurated, a former Google engineer had told Breitbart reporter Allum Bokhari that activists within the company had formed a working group to brainstorm ways to use Google’s resources to undermine the Trump administration. Geee
The 2020 Election Wasn’t Stolen, It Was Bought By Mark Zuckerberg During the 2020 election, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg spent hundreds of millions of dollars to turn out likely Democratic voters. But this wasn’t traditional political spending. He funded a targeted, private takeover of government election operations by nominally non-partisan — but demonstrably ideological — non-profit organizations. Analysis conducted by our team demonstrates this money significantly increased Joe Biden’s vote margin in key swing states. This unprecedented merger of public election offices with private resources and personnel is an acute threat to our republic, and should be the focus of electoral reform efforts moving forward. Geee
Mollie Hemingway: What happened during the 2020 election must be investigated and discussed If questioning the results of a presidential election were a crime, as many have asserted in the wake of the controversial 2020 election and its aftermath, then much of the Democratic Party and media establishment should have been indicted for their behavior following the 2016 election. In fact, the last time Democrats fully accepted the legitimacy of a presidential election they lost was in 1988. After the 2000 election, which hinged on the results of a recount in Florida, Democrats smeared President George W. Bush as "selected, not elected." When Bush won re-election against then senator John Kerry in 2004, many on the left claimed that voting machines in Ohio had been rigged to deliver fraudulent votes to Bush. HBO even produced and aired the Emmy-nominated "Hacking Democracy," a documentary claiming to show that "votes can be stolen without a trace," adding fuel to the conspiracy theory fire that the results of the 2004 election were illegitimate. But nothing holds a candle to what happened in 2016 after Donald Trump’s surprising defeat of former secretary of state Hillary Clinton. Rather than accept that Trump won and Clinton lost fair and square, the political and media establishments desperately sought to explain away Trump’s victory. They settled on a destructive conspiracy theory that crippled the government, empowered America’s adversaries, and illegally targeted innocent private citizens whose only crime was not supporting Hillary Clinton. Geee
How ‘Zuckerbucks’ funnelled $419m into ‘nonprofit’ local election admin boards ‘to help turn out likely Democratic voters’ to help Biden in 2020 election Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, 37, and his wife Priscilla Chan, 36, gave $419.5million into two nonprofits that largely donated to Democratic counties CTCL and CEIR profited grants to counties to help fund the election and implemented Democratic-approved practices, such as mail-in voting Zuckerberg's contributions nearly matched the federal and state funds for COVID-19 related election expenses, which totaled $479.5million CTCL's grants boosted Biden's dollar per vote value and Biden counties were 3.5 times more likely to receiving funding from the group On average, Biden counties received $2.85 per vote, compared to Trump counties that only received $0.89 CEIR donated $64.2million of Zuckerberg's money to 22 states and the District of Columbia :snip:

Geee
Zuckerberg’s election spending was ‘carefully orchestrated’ to influence 2020 vote: ex-FEC member A former federal election official on Thursday called the $400 million-plus that Mark Zuckerberg spent to help finance local elections a “carefully orchestrated attempt” to influence the 2020 vote — and recommended that all states ban private funding of election offices. Hans von Spakovsky, a former Federal Election Commission member, said the billionaire Facebook founder’s donations to a pair of nonprofits that doled out the cash to nearly 2,500 counties in 49 states “violated fundamental principles of equal treatment of voters since it may have led to unequal opportunities to vote in different areas of a state.” “My reaction is that this was a carefully orchestrated attempt to convert official government election offices into get-out-the-vote operations for one political party and to insert political operatives into election offices in order to influence and manipulate the outcome of the election,” said von Spakovsky, a Republican who now runs the Heritage Foundation’s Election Law Reform Initiative. He added: “All states should ban private funding of government election offices no matter the source.”
Geee
Senate candidates J.D. Vance and Blake Masters: We must stop Facebook from election meddling You probably remember where you were on Nov. 8, 2016. And you surely remember what you saw that evening: the American political establishment melting down in realtime. We saw Wolf Blitzer and John King frantically circling counties where maybe, just maybe, Hillary Clinton could still eke out enough votes to win. We saw sobbing media personalities and producers, unable to grasp what had just happened. And we saw the new president-elect, Donald Trump, give an epic victory speech. What we didn’t see was the network of Democrat operatives, politicians, nonprofit leaders, and tech billionaires promising themselves behind the scenes: Never again. Fast forward four years to the 2020 election. The neverending pandemic, we were told, required that states change or ignore election laws. Election Day became election season, as hundreds of millions of blank ballots were mailed out, often to people who didn’t request them. Shortly after the media networks declared Biden the winner, journalist Molly Ball published an account in Time boasting about how business and nonprofit leaders conspired to deny Donald Trump another four years (they called it “fortifying the election”). Big Tech played their part: mere weeks before the election, Google, Twitter, and Facebook censored explosive stories about Hunter Biden’s business dealings with the Chinese Communist Party. Given the narrow official margins in critical swing states, tech manipulation alone likely changed the outcome of the election.
Geee
Facebook employees tried to suppress conservative news outlets, report shows Facebook’s bias is showing — again. The tech giant’s employees have consistently pushed to suppress or de-platform right-wing outlets such as Breitbart, despite objections from managers trying to avoid political blowback, a scathing report by the Wall Street Journal revealed. The internal debates — captured in message-board conversations reviewed by the publication — fuel new concerns that the platform is treating news outlets differently based on political slant. Of special focus in the report was Breitbart, which employees have targeted to remove from the News Tab function, especially amid protests following George Floyd’s death by Minneapolis police last year. Valin
1 hour ago, Geee said: Facebook employees tried to suppress conservative news outlets, report shows Facebook’s Political Maelstrom Exposed John Hinderaker October 24, 2021 The Wall Street Journal has obtained internal Facebook documents that shed light on how politics has affected the social media giant’s behavior in recent years. Some argue that the documents confirm suspicions that Facebook deliberately suppresses conservative views, but to me the story seems more complicated than that: Quote Many Republicans, from Mr. Trump down, say Facebook discriminates against conservatives. The documents reviewed by the Journal didn’t render a verdict on whether bias influences its decisions overall. They do show that employees and their bosses have hotly debated whether and how to restrain right-wing publishers, with more-senior employees often providing a check on agitation from the rank and file. The documents viewed by the Journal, which don’t capture all of the employee messaging, didn’t mention equivalent debates over left-wing publications. I think that is a key point. The New York Times and Washington Post are just as partisan as Breitbart, a major focus of the WSJ story, and they are no more accurate. Yet Facebook pays them for, and features prominently, their content. Apparently no one at Facebook has ever questioned whether false and hateful reporting by the Post and the Times, such as the Russia collusion hoax to name just one example, should cause their content to be suppressed or downgraded. Quote Facebook employees focused special attention on Breitbart, the documents show, criticizing Facebook for showcasing the site’s content in News Tab and for helping it to sell ads. They also alleged Facebook gave special treatment to Breitbart and other conservative publishers, helping them skirt penalties for circulating misinformation or hate speech. Right-wing sites are consistently among the best-performing publishers on the platform in terms of engagement, according to data from research firm NewsWhip. That is one reason Facebook also is criticized by people on the left, who say Facebook’s algorithms reward far-right content. (Snip) Rumor has it that Facebook employees have been told to brace for more explosive stories in the next few days, based on revelations from a couple of “whistle blowers.” But my impression is that those individuals are on the left, so their revelations may not give us a full picture of what has been happening in Zuckerville.
