Clapton made the announcement via the Telegram account of film producer and architect Robin Monotti, after UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that vaccine passports would be required to enter venues with large crowds in England. "I wish to say that I will not perform on any stage where there is a discriminated audience present," Clapton said, per Rolling Stone. "Unless there is provision made for all people to attend, I reserve the right to cancel the show." (Snip)
