Valin
Power Line John Hinderaker June 28, 2021 On his show tonight, Tucker Carlson made the explosive claim that the National Security Agency has been spying on his electronic communications with the intention of trying to drive his show off the air. This information comes from an NSA whistleblower, and Tucker finds confirmation in the fact that the whistleblower himself had information that could only have come from an illicit spying on Tucker’s emails and texts: Will this accusation prove to be true? I have no idea, but would note that whether an anonymous source is an admirable whistleblower or a contemptible partisan leaker generally depends on whose political advantage is at stake. If Tucker’s claim that the whistleblower has information that could only have been obtained by spying on him and his staff is correct, it could turn into a scandal. Valin
The NSA Does Not Deny Reading Tucker Carlson’s Emails The NSA denied ‘targeting’ Tucker Carlson, but did not deny reading his emails. The NSA also did not deny that it may have accessed his communications through ‘incidental collection.’ Fred Fleitz July 5, 2021 I laughed when Fox News host Tucker Carlson said a National Security Agency (NSA) whistleblower told him that agency was monitoring his emails to leak them in an attempt to take his show off the air. From my 19 years as a CIA analyst and five years with House Intelligence Committee staff, I found this impossible to believe, for three reasons. First, I believed NSA’s huge and lumbering bureaucracy would never agree to such a flagrant violation of the agency’s foreign intelligence charter to spy on a leading conservative American journalist. Even if most NSA officials and analysts dislike Carlson, I assumed they would view violating NSA rules and the law to monitor him as too risky, since a leak was certain given how extremely controversial such an action would be and the large number of NSA personnel who would know about it. Second, the NSA spying on Carlson would have to be approved at the highest level of the Biden administration—probably by National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan. I believed Sullivan and other senior Biden officials were too risk-adverse to order NSA surveillance of Carlson. Third, I have little regard for high-profile NSA whistleblowers, too many of whom have been disgruntled former employees pursuing personal agendas. I therefore dismissed Carlson’s claim that the NSA was reading his emails. Then I saw this extraordinary denial from the NSA: (Snip) __________________________________________________________________ 1. Nothing would surprise me Less than to discover what Tucker said was true. 2. Still waiting for evidence. So far all I see is accusations and opinions. 3. We (America) Need The NSA (or something like it). Because there are very bad people/governments out there who do not wish us well.

Valin
At Last, we may have some evidence. \And now, the Putin factor Scott Johnson July 7 2021 Axios’s Jonathan Swan reports that Tucker Carlson was talking to U.S.-based Kremlin intermediaries about setting up an interview with Vladimir Putin shortly before Tucker accused the National Security Agency of monitoring his electronic communications for nefarious purposes — according to “sources familiar with the conversations.” Draw your own conclusions from this: (Snip) Just what this story needed: Russia! Geee
It Increasingly Looks Like Tucker Carlson’s Private Emails Were Leaked To The Media By The Government A report released Wednesday is shedding further light into Tucker Carlson’s bombshell allegation that the National Security Agency (NSA) obtained his private communications. The Fox News host and Daily Caller co-founder was communicating with U.S.-based Kremlin intermediaries regarding a potential interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to Axios, which reportedly spoke to two sources “familiar with Carlson’s communications.” “As I’ve said repeatedly, because it’s true, the NSA read my emails and then leaked their contents. That’s an outrage, as well as illegal,” Carlson told Axios in a statement.
Valin
Tucker: They planned to leak my emails Scott Johnson July 8 2021 Tucker Carlson opened his show last night with a monologue commenting on Jonathan Swan’s Axios story on the NSA interception of his email (video below). He didn’t mention Swan by name, but it’s clearly his story he was talking about. I excerpted Swan’s story in “And now, the Putin factor.” Tucker’s monologue confirmed the accuracy of Swan’s account as far as it bears on his side of the story. Late last night the New York Post noted “Tucker Carlson claims he was ‘unmasked’ by NSA for seeking Putin interview.” In connection with the issue of unmasking there should be more to come. Geee
Which Biden Official Asked The NSA To Unmask Tucker Carlson? Last week, a National Security Agency (NSA) investigation quietly confirmed Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s allegation that it had collected his electronic communications. The NSA also admitted the content of Carlson’s communications was leaked to the press after they “unmasked” Carlson’s name to a Biden administration official. The NSA cannot legally target the communications of Americans without an order from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance (FISA) court. However, such communications are often “incidentally” collected when an innocent American communicates with a legitimate NSA target, such as someone believed to be under the control of or collaborating with a hostile foreign power.
