Florida Gov. DeSantis Signs 3 Bills Boosting Civics Education, 'Viewpoint Diversity' in Schools

CNSNews.com) - Amid the furious backlash over government schools teaching children critical race theory; and government schools ignoring science to promote transgenderism, Florida is moving in a different direction.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Tuesday signed three bills that will expand civics education in Florida schools, require students to take civics literacy assessments, and require viewpoint diversity in state colleges and universities.

House Bill 5 requires the Florida Department of Education to create a K-12 civics education curriculum that includes an understanding of citizens’ shared rights and responsibilities under the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

It also requires high schools to teach students about communism and totalitarianism -- political ideologies that conflict with the principles of freedom and democracy essential to the founding principles of the United States.

The University of Central Florida has adopted radical Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programming that segregates students by race, condemns the United States as “white-supremacist culture,” and encourages active discrimination against the “oppressor” class, characterized as “male, White, heterosexual, able-bodied, and Christian.”

My second oldest GS graduated from there - and believe me the above has graduated with him.

I Strongly Suspect we can find very similar policies  in many other Colleges/Universities.
