TC Energy, the company that was set to build the Keystone XL oil pipeline from Canada to the U.S, will be cutting over 1,000 construction jobs after President Joe Biden revoked the project's permit on Wednesday.

In an email sent to employees, the company said it will be eliminating jobs and halting the pipeline's construction in the upcoming weeks, Politico reported.

"Over 1,000 positions will be eliminated in the coming weeks, the majority of these unionized workers representing the building trades," Keystone XL chief Richard Prior wrote in the message.

Biden's decision to nix the controversial project in one of his first acts as president follows years of opposition from progressives, environmentalists and indigenous groups.

In the first hour of the Harris/Biden administration, the general-counsel of the National Labor Relations Board was fired.  The position is a Senate-confirmed appointment that was due to expire in 10 months.  This is the first time in the history of the NLRB that a general-counsel has been given the axe.

Kimberly Strassel posits that the Democrats did this to help out the unions by thwarting the Republican majority on the NLRB (scheduled to last until August).

Looks like Harris/Biden is following in the slime trail of the Obama/Biden administration by weaponizing government agencies for partisan purposes.

Breaking Norms And Precedent, Biden Attempts To Purge Career Intelligence Official

Pelosi, Schiff, and Biden have politicized a career intelligence community position by demanding the removal of a national security professional.

Mollie Hemingway

January 22, 2021

Hours after President Joe Biden delivered his inaugural address promising to bring unity and healing to the country, his administration began a politically charged attack on a highly respected, newly appointed career intelligence official over fears he would be insufficiently loyal to Democratic partisans. The attempted purge has thus far followed the playbook publicly laid out by top Democrats and their left-wing media enablers.

In a stunning violation of precedent, Biden’s National Security Agency (NSA) placed General Counsel Michael J. Ellis on administrative leave pending a Defense Inspector General investigation of his recent appointment, as well as an unspecified claim of mishandling of classified information. Ellis has maintained a top security clearance, without any blemish, for more than a decade. He is a trained classification official both as a military officer and civilian.

While Ellis has prominent defenders from his many years of service in the intelligence community, his detractors include high profile participants in the Russia collusion hoax, proponents of former National Security Advisor John Bolton’s attempt to publish classified information in a book, and some of the individuals who orchestrated the Ukraine impeachment effort.

Pete Buttigieg's 'Learn to Code' Moment and the Canard of High-Paying Green Union Jobs

Pete Buttigieg went in front of the Senate yesterday to provide testimony for his confirmation hearing. The previous day, President Joe Biden had stopped the Keystone XL project cold in its tracks. Senator Ted Cruz had some pointed questions about this move and the impact from it. This exchange is important for a few reasons.

First, Cruz points out that the cancellation of the Keystone XL infrastructure project eliminates 11,000 jobs. This year, 8,000 of those would be high-paying union jobs. When asked what he would say to the 11,000 people who no longer have a job, Buttigieg responds as you would expect from the liberal gentry:

“I think the most important thing is to make sure that we make good on the promise of the president’s climate vision as being on that, on net, creates far more jobs. Millions, we hope. I know that won’t just happen. We’ll have to do a lot of work to make sure that’s real. But getting this right means ensuring there’s more good paying union jobs for all Americans. Delivered from that infrastructure vision.”:snip:

From your keyboard to God's ears!!!

Thing is America is a CENTER/Right nation. When a party goes too far, they pay the penalty, in the next election. If the (new & improved) Democratic Party cheats like they did to get Joe Rob jr elected...Turn Out The Lights, The Parties Over. We really will divide (this is Not a good thing). Right now I'm more concerned about the Ever Trumpers (ie Trump is the greatest thing since sliced bread) and the Q Annon types will screw this up.

Why One Union That Endorsed Biden Already Has Buyer's Remorse

President Biden made halting construction on the Keystone XL Pipeline one of his first priorities in office, and now, one union that endorsed him is having a change of heart about the new commander in chief.

“In revoking this permit, the Biden Administration has chosen to listen to the voices of fringe activists instead of union members and the American consumer on Day 1,” Mark McManus, president of the United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters, said last week. “Let me be very clear: When built with union labor by the men and women of the United Association, pipelines like Keystone XL remain the safest and most efficient modes of energy transportation in the world. Sadly, the Biden Administration has now put thousands of union workers out of work. For the average American family, it means energy costs will go up and communities will no longer see the local investments that come with pipeline construction.

“New advancements in technology mean that these pipelines are a low-carbon method of energy transportation and a critical part of delivering affordable energy while achieving our shared climate goals,” the statement continued. “Keystone XL would not only be constructed entirely by union labor, but it would be the first pipeline fully powered by renewable energy.”

Senate Backs Keystone XL Pipeline As Two Democrats Split with Joe Biden

James Walker

2/5/21

The Senate backed the Keystone XL pipeline in a Thursday night marathon vote, as two Democratic lawmakers broke with President Joe Biden to vote for a GOP amendment supporting the energy project.

As senators were forced to vote on hundreds of amendments to the budget resolution that would launch the reconciliation process, Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) put forward an amendment backing the Keystone XL pipeline.

The Republican's amendment called for a fund to be established to improve U.S.-Canada relations over the Keystone XL pipeline, weeks after President Biden revoked the project's federal permit and put thousands of jobs at risk.

Senators backed the symbolic amendment in a 52-48 vote, with Sens. Joe Manchin (D-WV), the chairman of the energy committee, and Jon Tester (D-MT) voting with GOP lawmakers to back construction of the pipeline.
