Senator Ted Cruz is expected to lead a delegation of Republican senators who plan on objecting to certifying an Electoral College victory for Joe Biden and calling for an Electoral Commission to oversee the disputed states.

The Texas Senator is joined by several of his Republican colleagues who noted in a statement that “voter fraud has posed a persistent challenge in our elections, although its breadth and scope are disputed.”

The move appears to be taking a leaf of out of the left’s playbook.

The notion of an electoral commission for the election was first mooted by the far-left Transition Integrity Project as reported upon by The National Pulse earlier this year.

Cruz’s counterparts who signed on to the statement include Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), James Lankford (R-Okla.), Steve Daines (R-Mont.), John Kennedy (R-La.), Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), Mike Braun (R-Ind.), Senators-Elect Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.), Roger Marshall (R-Kan.), Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.), and Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.):snip:

GOP Senators Led by Cruz to Object to Electoral College Certification

January 2, 2021

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is leading a coalition of Republican senators who plan to challenge the results of the 2020 presidential results. The group is calling for a “10-day audit” of the results after “unprecedented allegations of voter fraud, violations and lax enforcement of election law, and other voting irregularities.”

“Voter fraud has posed a persistent challenge in our elections, although its breadth and scope are disputed. By any measure, the allegations of fraud and irregularities in the 2020 election exceed any in our lifetimes,” the coalition said in a statement.

“Some Members of Congress disagree with that assessment, as do many members of the media. But, whether or not our elected officials or journalists believe it, that deep distrust of our democratic processes will not magically disappear.  It should concern us all. And it poses an ongoing threat to the legitimacy of any subsequent administrations,” the group explained.

“Ideally, the courts would have heard evidence and resolved these claims of serious election fraud. Twice, the Supreme Court had the opportunity to do so; twice, the Court declined,” the said.    :snip:

@Steven Wiederholt you can do your own information gathering. This isn't a term paper, you dont get to demand sources. Do your own research and come back with something interesting to say"

"The fact of the matter is we have an unsustainable state of affairs in this country where we have tens of millions of people who do not view this election result as legitimate," the Wisconsin Republican said on "Meet the Press."

The fact of the matter is that tens of millions of people believe this lie because Trump has been peddling it since months before the election, and because the majority of Republican office-holders are either too craven to stand up to their cult leader, or cynical enough to pander to his base. Shame on each and every one of them.

I swear if Donald Trump said this was Jan. 2021 people would say he's lying.

I do wonder if the Left/Biden voters ever considered the possibility that the Election was in fact stolen? Alas if you get your news from the MSM, the answer is No. :(

If a vast portion of the country think that thee vote was stolen, it is in the interest of the whole country to prove or disprove it. That's common sense, no matter what political party you are from. But, alas, common sense is a rare trait in these times - on both sides of the isle.

You said it. I didn't.

Just because someone is (insert group here) does not prevent them from being 1. A Jerk. 2. Dumber Than Dirt. 3. Both.

Jonathan Turley: ‘Why on Earth’ Would Someone Oppose Reviewing the 2020 Election?

During a Monday appearance on Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom,” George Washington University Law School Professor Jonathan Turley questioned why people would not want the 2020 presidential election reviewed.

Turley, who said he does not support the GOP’s challenge of the election results, asked “why on Earth” someone would oppose reviewing why there were so many issues with the 2020 election.:snip:

Ignoring And Ridiculing Election Fraud Concerns Will Not Make Them Go Away

Restoration of trust in due process is the central goal of the statement issued by Sen. Ted Cruz on election integrity. He and the 11 other senators who signed it understand something that few officials and pundits—particularly many self-described conservatives—are willing to admit: to certify electors without a comprehensive investigation into thousands of allegations of fraud in the 2020 election would be a betrayal of Americans’ trust as well as an egregious violation of their oath to protect the Constitution.

Whether or not you agree there was massive electoral fraud in the 2020 presidential election does not really matter at this point. Every American should be deeply concerned if nearly half of all voters are convinced that large-scale fraud handed the election to the Biden-Harris ticket. Some may hope the conviction will fade with time, but more likely the distrust will deepen, especially since it comes despite non-stop denials and censorship about fraud by both Big Tech and Big Media.:snip:
