At the direction of President Trump, the White House Office of Management and Budget will move to identify and eliminate any trace of “critical race theory” in the federal government.

Critical race theory is the leftist, racist doctrine that forms the intellectual underpinnings of Black Lives Matter, Antifa, and other radical organizations currently engaged in unrest on America’s streets.

It alleges, among other things, that the United States is a white supremacist country, and that all white people are guilty of racism, whether they intend it or not.

President Trump has brought the issue of far-left indoctrination to the forefront of the national conversation in recent months. It was a major theme of the President’s Independence Day speech at Mt. Rushmore, in which he condemned far-left theories that “defame our heroes, erase our values, and indoctrinate our children.”

Russ Vought, director of the Office of Management and Budget, announced on Twitter that the Trump administration will bring any dabbling in such theories by the federal government to a swift end.:snip:

Is Critical Race Training Illegal? [with comment by Paul]

John Hinderaker

September 6, 2020

It may well be, if inflicted on a company’s or government agency’s employees. In July, the City of Seattle required employees to attend training on “Internalized Racial Superiority for White People.” Last week, U.S. Civil Rights Commissioner Peter Kirsanow wrote a letter to Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan, which is embedded below. Kirsanow questioned the legality of the City’s “training” program under federal civil rights law:

Quote

This training likely violated Title VII’s prohibition against segregating employees by race. As a refresher, Title VII states:

It shall be an unlawful employment practice for an employer . . . to limit, segregate, or classify his employees or applicants for employment in any way which would deprive or tend to deprive any individual of employment opportunities or otherwise adversely affect his status as an employee, because of such individual’s race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.

There’s no exception in Title VII that says, “unless you have good intentions.” Rather, it provides that you may not segregate an individual by race in any way which would tend to adversely affect that person’s status as an employee. I know. I had to check twice myself. Segregation is still prohibited in 2020. Amazing.

PAUL ADDS: The Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department, under Assistant Attorney General Eric Dreiband, has sent a letter to the Seattle City Attorney inquiring about the training program for white employees that Kirsanow describes, as well as a parallel program for black employees. The letter states:

Quote

[Seattle’s training] may be in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits employment discrimination based on race.

We have not reached any conclusions. However, there is certain information [note: nine categories of it] that we request in order to determine whether the City has violated Title VII by conducting separate training based on race that may affect the terms and conditions of employment for both white employees and employees who identify as black or ‘persons of color.’

Is Critical Race Training Illegal? (Part 2)

John Hinderaker

September 7, 2020

I noted here that U.S. Civil Rights Commissioner Peter Kirsanow has written to the Mayor of the City of Seattle, suggesting that “critical race theory” or “white privilege” training that the city recently imposed on its employees likely violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits employment discrimination based on race. Paul added that the Department of Justice has also sought information about the same training sessions from Seattle, on the same ground. Seattle’s “white privilege” training was no different from what many companies and units of government have inflicted on their employees, and if it was illegal–as I think it was–the illegality is widespread.

Last week at Liberty Unyielding, Hans Bader applied federal law to the case of Sandia Labs:

“Last year, Sandia National Laboratories — which designs America’s nuclear weapons — hosted a” segregated “3-day reeducation camp for ‘white males,’ with the goal of exposing their ‘white privilege’ and deconstructing ‘white male culture.’” So

reports the Manhattan Institute’s Christopher Rufo.

The whole thing is reminiscent of the Red Guards:

In a subsequent session, the white males were forced to publicly recite a series of “white privilege statements” and “male privilege statements.” They had to accept their alleged complicity in creating oppression of women and people of color. At the end of the training, the white males had to “write letters ‘directed to white women, people of color, and other groups’” in which they “apologize for their ‘privilege.’”

Dan Brouillette, Secretary of Energy, has asked the Inspector General to investigate Sandia’s “white privilege” training, but “Rufo says Sandia executives have only accelerated their purge against conservatives.”

One brave Sandia employee, an electrical engineer named Casey Peterson, stood up against Sandia’s racist regime...............................

Hey He's Only The President.

BREAKING: CDC defies Trump's executive order, moves forward with critical race theory indoctrination

Mia Cathell The Post Millennial

September 14, 2020

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention is reportedly moving forward with critical race theory-inspired trainings in violation of President Donald Trump's executive cease and desist order that abolishes social justice indoctrination in the federal government.

(Snip)

Journalist Christopher Rufo released leaked documents that outline the CDC's plan to "examine the mechanisms of systemic racism" and address "White supremacist ideology."

The 13-week series is titled "Naming, Measuring, and Addressing the Impacts of Racism on the Health and Well-Being of the Nation and the World." A presentation will be conducted by Camara Phyllis Jones, former president of the American Public Health Association.

The first three "Naming Racism" sessions are focused on "racism, sexism, and other systems of structured inequality" and teach CDC employees to "address institutionalized racism" in order to "really set things right in the garden" of a purportedly racist nation, not "the land of opportunity" to "those who have always seen this country" as intended by the Founding Fathers.
