Progressive UNH Prof Gives Course Credit for Accusations of Racism

A UNH professor requires students to find someone to accuse of being racist, homophobic, or ableist and “call them out” in order to get credit for a communications class at the state-funded college.

Edward Reynolds, a communications professor and weight lifting coach, gained notoriety this week on social media when one of the requirements for his class hit the “Libs of TikTok” account.

According to the course work posted online, Reynolds requires his students to record the interaction they have with the person they are “calling out” for alleged bigotry and submit the recording in order to get graded.

Calling out, sometimes described as “calling in,” is when someone is confronted over ideas or statements that are deemed politically incorrect. Reynolds, who graduated from college in Australia, instructed students, as part of their graded coursework, to seek out people in their lives who they deem are engaging in racism, homophobia, or ableism, through their language or actions.

“Call in someone on their ableist, racist, or homophobic use of language, for microaggressions (or an act of racism) towards a person of color, homophobia against LGBTQI+, or ableism against a disabled person,” the course description states. “You must also record calling them in, in order to get credit.”:snip:

The potential problems are self-evident: People targeted by Reynolds’ students may object to being called racist or bigots. They might object to being recorded. There’s even the risk of a physical confrontation.

Gosh Ya Think! Years ago some anti fur protestors were marching in front of Daytons downtown. A guy and his friends (Biker types) were walking by  he got red paint thrown on his jacket (for the record this is a Real Bad Move), Lets just say there was Retaliation.

The Pandemic Has Opened Parents’ Eyes

More want a voice – and a choice.

“I want to see parents more involved with the board of education,” said Scarlett Johnson who leads the Mequon-Thiensville parents group and is seeking election to the school board. “And I want to see less ideology in the classroom.”

National School Choice Week is a celebration of parents using publicly funded vouchers to send their children to private schools. However, the COVID-19 pandemic brought about a movement of parents who want more say in directing their child’s public-school education.

When schools went virtual in March 2020, parents became very involved in their children’s education overnight and needed the schools to open up as soon as possible. When Mequon decided to go virtual in the fall of 2020, a group of concerned parents began meeting and held some of the town’s first protests.

Once schools opened in later September 2020, this parent group shifted their attention to curriculum concerns exposed through virtual learning.  For instance, in spring 2020, Mequon Thiensville paid $42,000 for Blaquesmith Consulting to bring “The Talk” and “Realizing Our Vision” to the district.

“Our ‘homework’ was to read ‘White Fragility,’ Ibram X Kendi and Paulo Freire’s Marxist guide to indoctrinate youth titled ‘Pedagogy of the Oppressed.’ Freire was an admirer of Mao Zedong’s Cultural Revolution in China and he helped facilitate Fidel Castro’s brutal reign in Cuba,” Johnson said. “This is why parents like myself are outraged.”

Mequon’s high school has long been considered Wisconsin’s best public high school. However, test scores have been declining. From the 2015-2016 year to the 2020-2021 year, third through eighth grade reading proficiency fell from 71% to 58%. The pandemic only perpetuated this decline with grade-level reading rates falling from 67% to 58% between the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 school years.:snip:

The Hypocrisy of the Left Knows No Bounds, as School Reveals New 'Banned Words' List

One of the critical requirements for remaining a member-in-good-standing of the Loony Left™ is keeping up to speed on the latest, ever-growing list of non-inclusive words and phrases — and NEVER using them.

More precisely, avoiding words banned by the left’s word police — for any number of offenses, including lack of “inclusivity,” “racist,” “misogynistic,” or otherwise “triggering” stuff.

While many of the left’s “bad words” and why they are “bad” is simply amusing to the sane among us, some of the no-no words could not be more hypocritical — which says a hell of a lot for a nonsensical group of people who take themselves way too seriously and whose hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Here’s a perfect case in point:

The University of Washington Information Technology Department’s new IT Inclusive Language Guide is chock-full of the latest words and phrases guaranteed to get a left-wing loon (or anyone else, per the left) canceled in a hypocritical heartbeat and banned from the Planet Loony Tunes for all of eternity.

From “plain, non-colloquial language,” to a list of “problematic words and phrases by category,” this baby has got you covered, America — and not a ridiculous minute too soon.

As noted by Moonbattery, the guide includes the usual, silly fare:

“Blackout date,” “black list,” “blackbox,” and “black hat hacker” are forbidden because according to establishment ideology, you must never associate “black” with anything bad.

By the same token, “white list,” “white hat hacker,” etc. are off limits because you must never associate “white” with anything good.:snip:

Elite private school scraps logo, scrubs God from motto as parents cry 'wokeism'

t’s a Dutch re-treat.

Manhattan’s elite Collegiate School set up a special task force and spent three years debating its “Dutchman’’ mascot and motto — then issued a 400-page report that’s a lesson in wokeness-run-amok, critics say.

The Herculean effort at PC reform led the $60,000-a-year Upper West Side school to not only drastically alter its winking playful mascot image — but also toss “God” from its motto and even “A.D.” from its seal, considering both potentially offensive.

“A lot of folks think the whole thing was just ridiculous overkill,” a parent told The Post. “Four hundred pages? For a mascot? A motto?”

The K-12 school — which counts John F. Kennedy Jr. and David Duchovny as former students — began probing its “history and symbols” in 2019.

The 394-year-old institution tapped a 17-person task force — including Regina Lasko, the wife of David Letterman — to update its brand to help “combat within Collegiate the institutional and other racism that pervades so much of our society.” :snip:

Schools across America implement BLM Week of Action that calls for 'disruption of Western nuclear family'

Schools across America are implementing the Black Lives Matter at School Week of Action curriculum that calls for the "disruption of Western nuclear family dynamics."

The week of action started on Monday in several schools from Washington state to Massachusetts, bringing to classrooms the activist-based curriculum that preaches controversial ideas.

According to the week of action "starter kit" published on the Black Lives Matter at School website, the group has a list of four "national demands" that include funding "counselors not cops" and mandating "Black History and Ethnic Studies" in classrooms.

Additionally, the week of action curriculum centers itself around the 13 "Black Lives Matter Guiding Principles," which include concepts such as "Black Villages" and "Globalism.":snip:

Report: Red State Public Schools Encourage Kids To Go Transgender Behind Their Parents’ Backs

A new report finds systemic racism, sexual obscenity, and anti-Americanism in U.S. public education, even in a deeply red state.

While Idaho is considered a refuge for people fleeing Democrat-controlled areas, a new report shows the state’s supermajority Republican legislature has not protected children from far-left politics in public schools, including state-sponsored racism and hiding transgender ideation from childrens’ parents:snip:

DADDY-DAUGHTER DANCES BANNED

Luck won’t be a lady for anyone in Hampton Falls after the Lincoln Akerman School PTO canceled the Guys & Dolls dance, an annual father-daughter event, due to complaints it is not gender-inclusive.

Parents in this small Granite State community received a letter from the PTO explaining the Guys & Dolls dance, along with the companion mother-son Ladies & Lads dance, ran afoul of the current climate of gender politics.

“The Lincoln Akerman School PTO has received some concerns regarding the lack of gender inclusivity surrounding the Guys & Dolls and Ladies & Lads events at our school,” The PTO letter states. “These long-standing events at LAS have traditionally been separated by gender, but with the asterisk that anyone is is welcome.”

Organizers decided keeping the name and inviting everyone regardless of gender was not an option.  Opening the dance to the entire school would not work due to COVID-19 concerns. Instead, the PTO opted to cancel both dances. Kellie Bove, the Lincoln Akerman School PTO communications director did not respond to a request for comment.:snip:

Project Launch: Unmasking National Association of Independent Schools[/b][/url]

Paul Rossi

Wednesday, February 9, 2022

You’ve probably never heard of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), but you need to know about it. NAIS is the driving force behind the radical racial and gender programming that has captured most K-12 private schools (called “independent” schools) across the country, particularly the elite schools that feed higher education, journalism, politics, and government.

I should know, I use to teach math at one of these places before I became a whistleblower. In this post, I will lay out some background about NAIS. And in coming weeks I will roll out videos and documents shining a light on NAIS’ mischief. Read this background below, and stay tuned in coming days and weeks.

The NAIS Nexus

As Aaron Sibarium explained in a major piece last year at The Free Beacon, NAIS dominates all other private school membership associations in power and influence. Through their approval of 25 regional accreditors, the NAIS sets parameters for board decision-making at 1,600 of the top private K-12 schools. A “commitment to equity and justice” is a critical component of their “Principles of Good Practice” (PGPs), which are essential to schools’ missions. After an audit by NAIS’ “Assessment of Inclusivity and Multiculturalism” instrument (AIM)–which inevitably identifies deficits around DEI–a network of CRT-based DEI consultants approved in the NAIS marketplace are on call to sell back a bevy of fixes to the school.

Parent Livid After School Instructs 8th-Graders to Describe Sex Acts Using Pizza Toppings

The child sex groomers are at it again, this time in Connecticut. John F. Kennedy Middle School created their own pizzagate scandal by “accidentally” giving out an assignment to 8th graders that asked them to make code words for sex acts using pizza toppings and then build a sex pizza with all their favorite sex acts. (I’d like to remind you that 8th graders are 13 and 14 years old.)

The assignment pretends to be about teaching consent but is really just an excuse for creepy adults to encourage underage kids to have sex with each other. The assignment says:

We can use pizza as a metaphor for sex! When you order pizzza with your friends, everyone checks in about each other’s preferences, right? Some people might be vegan, some might be gluten-free. Others might love pineapple, while others prefer pepperoni. Some might not like pizza at all. If you’re a vegetarian, but your friend is a meat-lover, sharing a pizza is going to bring up a lot of issues. You don’t know who can share pizza with until you ask.

The same goes with sex! You have to check in with your partner(s) and ask for their preferences. Your partner(s) might be comfortable with one sexual activity, but not another. Maybe your partner(s) only want to be touched a certain way, or maybe your partner(s) perfer to use certain language. Or maybe they don’t like or want sex at all. You’ll never know if your wants, desires, and boundaries are compatible with theirs unless you ask.:snip:

Texas professor sues university after being punished for saying music theory isn't racist

A professor at the University of North Texas is suing the school for punishing him after he pushed back against the idea that music theory is a function of White supremacy.

The lawsuit, first reported by Campus Reform, claims that the First and Fourteenth Amendment rights of professor Timothy Jackson were violated by the school when they removed him from the academic journal he co-founded after he published several articles that students and faculty deemed "racist.":snip:

University Instructs Teachers to Give up Academic Effort for Social Engineering

At the University of Colorado Denver, they’re trying to accomplish equity. Also receiving aim: justice and inclusion.

Therefore, the school’s issued a manual for students and teachers.

The five-page Syllabus Review Guide for Equity, Justice, and Inclusion encourages classes to incorporate the virtuous trio.

From the document, courtesy of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Council on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion:

The purpose of this Syllabus Review Guide is to help educators address inequities, injustices, and exclusions of a historical and systemic basis whose legacies affect students today.

What do equity, justice, and inclusion actually mean? Whatever it is, the school wants students and staff to become “deliberate” activists:

Although [the words] do not have universally-shared meanings, they typically refer to a recognition of institutionalized disadvantages and barriers that can be remedied only through deliberate action.

For professors:

This guide offers starting points for developing syllabi that optimize success for all students. … t is meant to encourage continual reflection and to spur lifelong efforts to foster equity, justice, and inclusion in the classroom, on campus, and in the community.

Whatever subject is being taught, instructors are to take away focus in favor of social engineering. That’s an unavoidable trade, given that time and energy are finite.:snip:

Secret Teacher Portals Reveal ‘Pronoun Surveys,’ ‘Black Lives Matter Curriculum.’ Here’s What I Found in the Leaked Content.

The school district of Loudoun County, Virginia, may have made the headlines for aggressively pushing far-left content onto students, including pornography and critical race theory, but other districts throughout the country are no better off.

At the Santa Barbara Unified School District in California, teachers are given a plethora of politically radical resources that they are expected to implement in the classroom, which are now coming to light.

Christy Lozano, a teacher at the Santa Barbara Unified School District, has revealed that teachers are expected to access a password-protected portal for teaching “culturally responsive material.” She has exposed the far-left content with Laura Ingraham, and she recently provided me with the materials as well.

The materials are laid out in numerous webpages, each encompassing a different progressive cause. Some of the category headings include “Black Lives Matter,” “Bilingual/Multilingual Advocacy Month,” and “LGBTQIA+ Month.” When I started to dig into the materials, it quickly became apparent that they were not simply educational tools.

Let’s begin with the Black Lives Matter materials. The page contains links to various BLM-related resources, segregated by age group. Under the preschool-to-second grade heading, there is a link to Black Lives Matter at School, an activist group dedicated to spreading the teachings and activism of BLM throughout the K-12 school system.:snip:
