For the most part, the inauguration of President Donald J. Trump was peaceful. Trump took the oath, gave his inaugural address, Obama left, and now the billionaire real estate magnate who no one thought could win is the 45th president of the United States. Yet, for 217 people, they didn’t want a peaceful transition. They wanted to disrupt the inauguration in any way they could, which meant that the police, who numbered in their thousands for security, had to deploy flash bang grenades and pepper spray to keep the rabble from encroaching on the parade route.

The Media Research Center sent a team to capture the chaos, where rioters vandalized buildings and appear to be armed with crowbars and hammers to cause damage. Regardless, the mayhem was mostly contained by 6:30 p.m. and there was no immediate danger to the president of other high profile attendees at the inauguration. Six police officers did receive minor wounds after rioters threw bricks and other projectiles at them (via ]url=http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/inauguration-2017/washington-faces-more-anti-trump-protests-after-day-rage-n709946?cid=eml_nbn_20170120]NBC News[/url]):

Today is the Women’s March, which could bring as many as 200,000 people to Washington D.C.

Trump Defends the Constitution

January 22, 2017 by Ken Masugi 2 Comments

Finally, a president upholds his oath and defends the Constitution against its enemies, domestic as well as foreign.

Donald Trump’s inaugural address horrified his typical critics—the media, various conservative and liberal pundits, and sundry identity groups. All this signifies how far these insipid intellectuals and political hacks are from understanding the fundamentals of constitutional government.

In truth, no inaugural address has defended the Constitution so vigorously since Abraham Lincoln’s First Inaugural, because none so directly confronted the foundational threat to the Constitution in Franklin Roosevelt’s First Inaugural. Our constitutional order has acquiesced in his command that all government bow to executive will. Scissors-32x32.png

The Shadowy Extremist Group Behind the Anti-Trump Riots

Antifa flies under the radar despite escalating acts of violence against president's supporters

by Edmund Kozak | Updated 24 Apr 2017 at 10:37 AM

On April 15, a pro-Trump, pro-free-speech rally at University of California, Berkeley, descended into violent mayhem after radical far-leftists — members of the organization Antifa — began to attack the peacefully assembled crowd.

Antifa, which stands for “anti-fascist action,” is a network of loosely affiliated far-left anarchist and communist groups that orchestrate violent protests and attacks on populists, conservatives, and anyone else its members deem to be “fascists” or “Nazis.”

“Anyone who tries to hold any sort of right-wing event literally gets beat up by militant communists in the street.”

Antifa was formed originally in Germany in the 1980s, its members taking the name of the communist paramilitary groups that engaged the Nazis in street-fighting in the 1930s. It now has active cells across the world, including in Germany, the U.S., Canada, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Czechia, and France. Scissors-32x32.png
