Bernie Sanders supporters march through downtown Philadelphia on Sunday

Chaos reigned Sunday ahead of the Democratic National Convention, as the party’s head was forced to quit, thousands of protesters took to the streets and delegates threatened a walk-out over Hillary Clinton’s vice-presidential pick.

On the eve of the four-day convention to nominate the county’s first female presidential candidate, Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz resigned in disgrace over the hack of emails that showed DNC staffers favoring Clinton over her then rival, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Meanwhile, throngs of Sanders supporters marched and pounded on drums, chanting “Hell no, DNC — we won’t vote for Hillary” in the sweltering heat during the first in an expected series of protests in Philadelphia.

A leading Sanders supporter, Norman Solomon, also said a “vast majority” of the socialist’s delegates were considering turning their backs — or even walking out of the Wells Fargo Center — during Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine’s acceptance speech to run as Clinton’s second-in-command.

Wasserman Schultz booed off stage in Philadelphia

Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz was repeatedly interrupted and booed Monday as she sought to speak to Florida's convention delegation.

The Florida lawmaker, who will resign after the Democratic National Convention this week after leaked emails showed top members of the DNC working to boost Hillary Clinton's presidential primary bid, had to strain her voice to yell over the flurry of protestors who showed up to interrupt her speech.

"We need to make sure we move together in a unified way," she said over shouts from the crowd.

As she spoke, people stood on chairs holding up signs that said "emails," "No!" and "Thanks for the 'help,' Debbie."

Others repeatedly shouted: “Shame.”

The heckling didn't stop even as Wasserman Schultz mentioned last night's shooting in Fort Meyers, Fla., that left two dead and more than a dozen injured.

The Florida congresswoman was defiant, insisting delegates would see more of her.

"You will see me every day between now and Nov. 8 on the campaign trail, and we will lock arms and we will not stand down," she said.

She also took on those heckling her. Scissors-32x32.png

Pelosi Booed By Democratic Delegates at Convention Breakfast

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) and Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D., Fla.) both were booed at a breakfast for Florida party delegates on Monday.

The disgruntled delegates started interrupting and booing individuals who were slotted to speak at the event the day the Democratic National Convention is set to start.

“Members of the delegation repeatedly disrupted the lineup of speakers, including House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, with protestations against Clinton and cheers for her erstwhile primary rival, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders,” Roll Call reported.Scissors-32x32.png

Sanders supporters chant 'Lock her up' at Philadelphia rally: report

Bernie Sanders supporters took to the streets Sunday to protest using the same controversial lines that had been used by Republicans at their convention last week.

The Wall Street Journal reports that protesters chanted both “Lock her up” with some wearing “Hillary for Prison” t-shirts they marched in Philadelphia the day before the party’s convention.

The chant echoed throughout last week’s Republican convention in Cleveland, a regular response to almost any criticism of Clinton. And “Hillary for Prison” shirts could be spotted across the city, as vendors lined the streets hocking a slew of controversial shirts to convention-goers.

Clinton was cleared of wrongdoing by the Justice Department in the investigation of her use of a private email server. But in vindicating Clinton from criminal charges, FBI Director James Comey slammed Clinton’s “extreme carelessness” in working with sensitive information.

The chants typify the concerns about party unity leading up to the convention, concerns that have only been exacerbated by the recent release of hacked DNC emails that showed the party rooting for Clinton to defeat Sanders.Scissors-32x32.png

So, DNC's Interim Chair Was Also Implicated in WikiLeaks Emails

With Debbie Wasserman Schultz out as DNC chair effective after the convention because of leaked emails showing her bias against Bernie Sanders in the primary process, DNC Vice Chair Donna Brazile was named as her interim replacement. But there’s just one problem with that. Brazile was also implicated in the WikiLeaks emails as well. Scissors-32x32.png

Won't watch any speeches - but the side show is a riot (and maybe a real one?). And no popcorn in the house - shucks.
