· When former Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Brian Encinia steps into a Waller County courtroom on Tuesday for his arraignment, he will move forward with one of three battles he is fighting since he arrested Sandra Bland last year. Her hanging death in her jail cell three days later ignited a national firestorm.

OK...my rant:

 

How much more "getting even" will be required for these aggrieved blacks to become productive, law-abiding & grateful citizens of Amerika?

 

Yes, some of their ancestors were enslaved by white & Arab slavers & brought to America. No one alive had to endure that slavery.

 

How many men died for their emancipation in the Civil War? Was their sacrifice acknowledged?

 

If they had not been enslaved, where would they be right now?

 

Africa?

 

What economic conditions would they have to live in now...if their ancestors hadn't been brought here?

 

They do not want equality. They already have equality by law & also by practice.

 

Even in poverty...they and white poor...have iPhones, refrigerators, flush toilets, color TV's & cable. Their poverty is richer than most African states' middle classes.

 

So... to recap...they're pissed that their great, great, great (almost another great) grandparents were enslaved & brought to America to have half the country fight & die for their freedom & be pushed into living a life of relative ease...even in poverty.

 

They are spoiled children.

 

I'm sick of the decade of black disgruntlement, reparation & aggrievement politics.

 

 

Living (anywhere, but especially) in America requires personal responsibility. You learn it, practice it & teach it to your children & grandchildren. Opportunities abound for responsible people of any color.

 

STFU & move on.

 

I've never owned slaves. My father, grandfather, great grandfather, etc...never owned slaves. I don't know anyone that owned slaves.

 

Everything I have, I worked for. I've never taken even "gubmint cheese"...even though I had to eat macaroni&cheese, cheap hot dogs, breakfast cereal & syrup toast during lean times. I don't owe them anything other than common courtesy...which I'm quickly running out of...[/rant]

Democrat Cedric Watson had hoped to become Waller County's first black sheriff, but he lost by a wide margin to incumbent Glenn Smith, a Republican.
