Turning Against Trump

By Bookworm

People who pride themselves on rational thinking know there are few feelings worse than being wrong about something, especially something that they made a big noise about at the time. What helps lessen this intellectual humiliation is understanding that, given the information available at the time, the decision was a rational one at the time. The remedy for the initial error is to use the newly available information to reach a more reasoned decision.

As the campaign season goes forward, we’re learning more about Donald Trump’s politics and seeing his initial ebullient puckishness too often give way to self-referential arrogance and venomous hubris. Now is a good time for Trump supporters to use this new information to revisit their original conclusion about him and to realize, with no shame attached, that he’s not the candidate they thought he was. Scissors-32x32.png

That was then. This is now. Now the opposition research is finally coming to light, and it seems that Trump (shame on him, not shame on you) has been lying to America’s conservatives. Scissors-32x32.png

Another ignorant Trump hater. Sigh.

Why do they all hate Trump so? Trump is not perfect, but he really loves the land of his birth (unlike Ted), is tough as nails, is a PC terminator and will do the most important things (wall, stop the invasion, jack the economy) needed to make America great again. Go Trump 2016!

Not That This Will Matter One Damn Bit To The T-Bots. They are beyond rational thought.

Now I Am Being Serious, Deadly Serious: Stopping The Trump Disgrace
David Bahnsen
February 21, 2016

Several years ago I penned a piece on then Presidential candidate, Ron Paul, someone who had no chance at the time of being President, but who had captured the affections of far too many discerning people. I know my article could have never swayed the opinions of the typical Ron Paul supporter, but I have received more emails on that piece than on any non-investment piece I have ever written thanking me for that article, telling me that they did not know, or had not thought through, the problems with Ron Paul until that piece.

I hold out no hope that this article will sway the opinions of any Donald Trump supporters, and yet the stakes are far, far higher. Ron Paul never won a single state in three Presidential attempts. My motives to shine a light on his conspiratorial ideology were because he was a credible and capable spokesman for free markets and Constitutionalism, which I will take a bullet for, and yet he was damaging those causes I believed in so much with such an inane and morally reckless view of America and her role in the world. With Trump, my motive is both similar and dissimilar: Similar in that I desperately want to protect the sanctity of the movement known as conservatism for which I consider myself a passionate advocate, but dissimilar in that Ron Paul was going nowhere, whereas Donald Trump has a serious chance of becoming the GOP candidate for the Presidency in the most important election of our lifetimes. Worse, he may even become President.

Trump is Pat Buchannan and Ross Perot and Michael Savage rolled into one person, given hundreds of millions of daddy’s money, and then rolled into a hyper-charismatic reality TV star. He is a pop culture icon. He is funny. He is memorable. And he now is the frontrunner to be the President of the United States. He is crude, dishonest, and as likely to make American great again as Pat Buchannan and Michael Savage themselves, but he is the frontrunner for the Presidency of the United States. Heaven help us.

And I actually now am saying, “Heaven Help Us”, not in some meaningless or trite context. I mean that quite literally, for those who care about this hijacking of the Republican party, and much worse, the hijacking of the conservative movement some of us care about, need to beg for divine providence to stop the Trump ascendancy. The stakes are that high.

How many votes did David Bahnsen get?

Trump's success reveals that the conservative movement is alive and healthy and strong. But it's also not exactly what a few dozen self-styled "opinion leaders" who talk mostly (and listen exclusively) to one another thought it was.

Think pieces in monthlies and blogs are the theory. Elections are the practice. Conservatism is what the Conservatives do. And what they're doing, mostly, is voting for Donald Trump.

For President of the United States, I Endorse…

By Erick Erickson | February 23, 2016, 11:00am

Ted Cruz.

And Marco Rubio.

In fact, I think you should look at your polling in your state and see who is closest to Trump. Then, I don’t care whether you prefer the third place guy, cast your vote for the second place guy.

If Cruz and Rubio are too immature to stop fighting each other to attack Trump, we should force them.

If Marco Rubio is in first or second place headed into your state’s primary, vote for Rubio, even if you like Cruz.

In the same way, if Ted Cruz is in first or second place headed into your state’s primary, vote Cruz, even if you like Rubio.

Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio.

Absolutely no problem voting for either of them....and may I add with a song in my heart. Either one would make a fine President.

Same for Ben & John

Robert Jeffress, Jerry Falwell, Jr, and David Duke Unite Behind Trump

By Erick Erickson | February 25, 2016, 01:46pm

Dallas pastor Robert Jeffress says Donald Trump is a great American.

Liberty University President Jerry Falwell, Jr. says Trump is a good Christian.

And now former KKK leader David Duke says voting against Trump is ‘treason to your heritage.

It should tell the first two that they have given sanction a candidate with serious flaws who has an online army of white nationalists supporting him Scissors-32x32.png

The Importance of Disclosing This Immediately #NeverTrump

By Erick Erickson | February 27, 2016

Explicitly stating our opposition, before he secures the nomination, will not stop people from saying we cost him the nomination. But in the historic record it will be clear we saw the rise of an authoritarian jackass, rejected him, and gave people ample time to heed the warnings before jumping off the cliff. Scissors-32x32.png
