The second Republican presidential debate is coming up tonight on CNN. What better way to watch it than with a few hundred or thousand fellow conservatives? The audience for the debate should be huge, and it could be a make or break event for several candidates who have not been able to break out of the pack.

So: plan to sign in to Power Line Live as you watch the debates. The undercard will begin at 6:00 Eastern, and end at 7:45. The main debate will begin at 8:00 Eastern. To get into Power Line Live, click on the “Live” link above or simply click here.

You will be asked to log in. Logging in is easy. When you arrive at Power Line Live, you’ll be invited to enter a nickname. Enter anything you like, but keep it civil, of course. You’ll instantly be in the chat!

Debate Preview: For you people smart enough Not to be up at 5:00 am

The good folks at the Bill Bennett radio show have given me permission to post a couple of the segments from this morning’s broadcast. Here’s two from the third hour, the first with Fred Siegel talking about the Democratic field, and then the incomparable Henry Olsen talking about the state of the race for the Republicans. Lots of great sports analogies here, especially Henry’s hot take that Trump is “the Brett Farve of GOP politics”—brilliant when he’s hot, but prone to throwing a game-ending pick-six sooner or later. These are in podcast format (if I know what I’m doing, which is not certain), so you can download them and take them on your afternoon dog walk. They’re about ten minutes each.

I missed the first debate. When I heard it would be broadcast at 6:00 I thought that meant MDT. bag.gif Mr.n. is at Dulles airport and watched it in the USO section of the airport. He said Jindal and Graham did a good job and the questions were good. Sorry I missed it.
