Draggingtree
RedState: House Freedom Caucus draws a line in the sand: No funding for PP. Beginning of the end for Boehner?By: gawken (Diary) | September 11th, 2015 at 08:10 AM There was one really good piece of news from Capitol Hill yesterday. The House Freedom caucus adopted an official position (meaning it was supported by at least 80% of the members) that they will oppose ANY spending measure that includes funding for Planned Parenthood. “Any spending measure” includes a CR, which appears to be House leadership’s plan of choice to fund the government and avoid a shutdown. This means that Boehner can only pass a CR ( which would include funding for PP) with the support of Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) 16% and House Democrats; who would likely exact several pounds of flesh for doing so.

Valin
University of Oregon Professor Calls Female Pro-life Rep a ‘Misogynist Liar'Cortney O'Brien Sep 11, 2015 Rep. Diane Black (R-TN) is a former nurse and a staunch pro-life advocate. As you can imagine, she is not a fan of Planned Parenthood. She authored the Defund Planned Parenthood Act of 2015, which would place a moratorium on taxpayer funding for the organization for a year until a congressional investigation is complete. On Friday, House leadership announced they would bring the bill up for a vote next week. Black discussed her legislation while appearing as a guest on Tamron Hall’s MSNBC program “NewsNation” earlier this week. She explained that the effort was prompted by the Center for Medical Progress’s three-year investigation into Planned Parenthood, before urging Hall and her viewers to “watch the films” for themselves. University of Oregon Professor David Fowler was not impressed with Black’s pro-life agenda. In a personal attack against the legislator on Twitter, he posted the following hateful message: @obrienc2 @RepDianeBlack You are a twisted, sickening misogynist liar. You should be ashamed of yourself and the harm you do to women Diane — David Fowler(@dcfowler1) September 11, 2015 (Snip)
