WestVirginiaRebel
Breitbart: MORGANTON, North Carolina — Speaker Rep. John Boehner (R-OH)35% ’s worst nightmare is on the rise here in rural North Carolina. Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC)96% is gaining steam as a clearly coordinated, highly orchestrated effort to remove Boehner as Speaker of the United States House of Representatives—and fix a broken Congress that no longer represents the wishes of the American people—comes into much clearer focus. Meadows invited Breitbart News to accompany him on a district visit, and the concerns he discussed with his constituents offer a microcosm of the issues America wants Congress to address. Everyone here agrees: John Boehner needs to go as Speaker of the House, and Mark Meadows is doing something about that. Unlike some others from the more conservative side of the House GOP conference, Meadows is calm, cool and collected. He doesn’t make headline-grabbing comments, and is a serious, well-connected and well-respected member of the conference. Despite clear efforts by leadership—Boehner’s office and its allies, including Chief Deputy Whip Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC) who represents the district bordering Meadows’ here—to isolate him, Meadows’ credibility in the House GOP conference only seems to grow by the minute thanks to his steady demeanor and well-intentioned aim to steer Congress back onto a track that more effectively represents America’s views in Washington. Meadows, one of 24 members who at the beginning of this Congress voted for a Republican alternative to Boehner alongside one—Rep. Brian Babin (R-TX) who voted “present,” which was technically a meaningless vote—believes it’s safe to assume that that 25 members will vote once again to remove Boehner as Speaker of the House should he bring his motion to vacate the chair up as a privileged resolution in the fall. At least three more—Reps. Rep. Raul Labrador (R-ID) , Rep. Mick Mulvaney (R-SC) , and Rep. Matt Salmon (R-AZ) —have publicly pledged they will join him. Several more, including major power player conservatives, have behind the scenes promised they will not support Boehner’s re-election as Speaker. ________ Boehner's last stand?

Draggingtree
Mark Meadows (North Carolina politician) From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Resolution to vote to remove Speaker Boehner[edit] In July 2015, Meadows filed a resolution[30]to vote on whether to remove John Boehner as Speaker of the House.[31]If the resolution were successful, the House would then vote to elect a replacement Speaker of the House.[31] Because Meadows filed it as a nonpriveleged resolution, it was sent to the House Committee on Rules for a vote first, rather than the House floor.[31]The Committee on Rules is considered to have many members who are loyal to Speaker Boehner, so the resolution is seen as unlikely as moving forward.[31]
Valin
Could Kevin McCarthy be pushed into becoming Speaker?posted at 10:01 am on September 16, 2015 by Jazz Shaw (Snip) UPDATE: (Jazz) Two other things to cover on this question. First, the Speaker’s office released the following statement: Navigating tough challenges isn’t new to this leadership team. The Speaker is focused on the America people’s priorities and how we can accomplish them. He’s got wide support amongst our members, and he is not going anywhere. Second, I checked with some folks in a position to know this morning just to see if anything has changed from recent months. There seems to remain little doubt that, even when you get beyond all the normal posturing and politics on display in the House, John Boehner and Kevin McCarthy genuinely like each other, and McCarthy is completely loyal to the Speaker. The general perception is that this is a trial balloon being floated by the Freedom Caucus, * but in the end they have no other viable candidate to replace Boehner who can get anywhere near the required number of votes. This story is good for some headlines but it’s difficult to believe that there’s much meat behind it. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ * Pretty Much What I Expected.
