FROM JOHN LOTT, ET AL.: Concealed Carry Permit Holders Across the United States. Some high points:

Since President Obama’s election the number of concealed handgun permits has soared, growing from 4.6 million in 2007 to over 12.8 million this year. Among the findings in our report:

– The number of concealed handgun permits is increasing at an ever- increasing rate. Over the past year, 1.7 million additional new permits have been issued – a 15.4% increase in just one single year. This is the largest ever single-year increase in the number of concealed handgun permits.

– 5.2% of the total adult population has a permit.

– Five states now have more than 10% of their adult population with concealed handgun permits.

– In ten states, a permit is no longer required to carry in all or virtually all of the state. This is a major reason why legal carrying handguns is growing so much faster than the number of permits.

– Since 2007, permits for women has increased by 270% and for men by 156%.

– Some evidence suggests that permit holding by minorities is increasing more than twice as fast as for whites.

– Between 2007 and 2014, murder rates have fallen from 5.6 to 4.2 (preliminary estimates) per 100,000. This

represents a 25% drop in the murder rate at the same time that the percentage of the adult population with permits soared by 156%. Overall violent crime also fell by 25 percent over that period of time.

– States with the largest increase in permits have seen the largest relative drops in murder rates.

– Concealed handgun permit holders are extremely law-abiding. In Florida and Texas, permit holders are convicted of misdemeanors or felonies at one-sixth the rate that police officers are convicted.

I love (sarcasm) these 2016 GOP Nominee Preference Polls that Fox News touts. Just as an example - today=

Trump 26%, Bush 15%, Walker 7%, Cruz 6%, Huckabee 6%, Rubio 5%, Paul 5%, Christie 3%, Kasich 3%, Fiorina 2%, Santorum 2%, Perry 1%, Jindal 1%, Pataki 1%, Graham 0%, Gilmore 0%.

Ok nonstop talk about Trump dominating while they nonstop talk about him and have him on every Monday morning. Nonstop talk about how the Republican base is sick of politicians who promise one thing and go to Washington and become part of the problem; nonstop talk from EVERYONE about how "conservative" they are while at the same time touting the Repub. establishment that detests the conservative base for sundry reasons; yada yada yada.

I have a book to recommend that I have not read but saw Mark Levin on Fox and Friends this morning and AGREED with everything he said. The book is PLUNDER AND DECEIT. Here is just one review with some quotes:

http://legalinsurrection.com/2015/08/mark-levins-tough-medicine-for-the-plundered-generations/

BTW, one of the advantages to Trump being in is that the msm has covered him nonstop (not favorably) and so the fact that issues normally covered over, ignored are being covered and only Dems getting attention of the public has been reversed. So in that context I am all for his big mouth at this time.

Here's the questions people should ask themselves. And its not How many ways do I hate Jeb Bush? Why are RINO's so stupid? No it's would Donald Trump make a good President? 15 years from now would you say with some pride "I supported Donald Trump! Do I want Donald Trump on my radio, on my TV, in my life everyday for 4 years? Step back from the "I'm Mad As Hell And I'm Not Gonna Take It Anymore" and think about that.

Just because a person is conservative does not prevent them from being a low information voter. Last time it was Ron Paul, this time its DT.

They are all clueless. Every single one. My only hope is that when election day finally comes around a lot of these people will be either too lazy or too busy to bother voting. And if they get their ballot in the mail they will lose it or forget about it.

1. The Founders/Framers did not have a high opinion of the Vox Populi...and for a very good reason.

2. All they heard were the words Hillary Clinton, at that point they stopped pay attention to what was said.

3. We rightly shake our heads and/or make fun of these people. Think is you can go onto TOS or any right wing site and read things that are just as stupid.

Stupidity is an equal opportunity trait.

Example from TOS

If we fought ISIS like we fought WW2, we would have won by now. Likewise, we would have won Vietnam and Korea.

In WW2, we leveled entire enemy cities and did not care about civilian casualties. In WW2, we were prepared to exterminate the entire enemy population, if that was what it took.

Then again, in WW2, we had no protests against that mode of war from our resident leftists, because we were fighting on the same side as the Communists.

Got to love Trump's staff. A liberal group found and released one of his phone numbers. Within hours, the phone line reaches a voice mail saying how glad Trump is you are taking interest in his campaign and how to learn more.

Great line by James Toranto of the WSJ.... "Hillary Clinton is having a bad week. Actually, we’ve discerned an emerging pattern: Every time a week has seven days, it turns out to be bad for Mrs. Clinton."

Speaking of O birthday...

“Happy birthday, @POTUS! Hopefully when @FLOTUS isn’t looking you can have some cake. #44turns54,” Bill Clinton wrote Tuesday on Twitter.

Really? Bill certainly had some stuff when FLOTUS wasn't looking....

Free The Bacon!

Steven Hayward

August 5, 2015

I’ve always had a soft spot for Kevin Bacon. Because bacon. For starters. Also because he was great in what I think was his first serious film role in Barry Levinson’s classic Diner. And also because of the famous Animal Houseremain calm, all is well!” scene that serves as a recurrent meme for our equivalent of the Obama administration’s frequent Baghdad Bob moments.

But here he argues the case for more male nudity in popular entertainment, and I agree. (Though I have no idea what he’s talking about in his discussion of Game of Thrones. I don’t watch Thrones: not enough sex and violence for me.) A nice satire of Hollywood conventions in two and a half minutes (definitely rated PG-13 BTW):
