Draggingtree
Real Clear Politics: 'Hands Up, Don't Shoot' Activists -- and Historical IgnoranceBy Larry Elder - January 2, 2015 What to say about "activists" pushing the "Hands Up, Don't Shoot" "movement," even as police shootings of blacks are actually down 75 percent over the last 45 years? Some protestors, many old enough to know better, say ridiculous things about race relations, like "things have gone backward." Time for perspective. Booker T. Washington was born a slave. In his autobiography, "Up From Slavery," written in 1901 -- just a mere 36 years after the Civil War -- Washington wrote: "As a rule, not only did the members of my race entertain no feelings of bitterness against the whites before and during the war, but there are many instances of Negroes tenderly caring for their former masters and mistresses who for some reason have become poor and dependent since the war. I know of instances where the former masters of slaves have for years been supplied with money by their former slaves to keep them from suffering. ... Draggingtree
Differences Between Civil Rights Movement of 1963 and Today’s Illicit Nonsense is Stark By Warner Todd Huston Full Story Comparing the wholly American and sensible demands issued by the real civil rights movement during the event that saw Martin Luther King deliver his “Dream” speech in August of 1963 to the mishmash of self aggrandizing nonsense belched forth by today’s “BlackLivesMatter “movement” reveals a startling difference and exposes today’s protesters to be disjointed, illogical, filled and with race-hate not to mention insensate and childish.http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/68746
Draggingtree
Bridgeton, NJ: Another Alleged “Hands Up” Police Killing of Black ManPosted by Andrew Branca ▪ Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 2:30pm Two New Jersey police officers fire when a traffic stop goes bad, killing 36-year-old Jerame Reid Two Bridgeton NJ police officers shot and killed 36-year-old Jerame Reid during a traffic stop last night, reports NBC 10 News our of Philadelphia (see embedded video, below). The officers, Braheme Days and Roger Worley, are on paid leave as the killing remains under investigation. Prosecutors have released little information, but a gun was recovered at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled for today, although there seems little question as to the cause of death. The witness circus, so familiar from the Michael Brown shooting, seems to have already begun. It remains to be seen whether the witnesses in this instance have any greater credibility than those in Ferguson who claimed that Brown was shot in the back while fleeing, that Brown was shot while on his knees, that Brown had never advanced on Officer Darren Wilson, and other such creativities. http://legalinsurrection.com/2015/01/bridgeton-nj-another-alleged-hands-up-police-killing-of-black-man/
