A Colorado teen's attempt to help support Al Qaeda and its affiliates fight overseas was thwarted after she was arrested while boarding a flight to Turkey in April, according to court documents unsealed Wednesday.

Shannon Maureen Conley, 19, was arrested at the Denver International Airport by the FBI and charged with conspiring to help a foreign terrorist organization, which included the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, the federal documents show.

The Arvada teen is accused of attempting to ultimately travel to Syria to link up with a Tunisian suitor she met online in 2013.
