The men from these tribes differ in dress, language, and, more importantly, how they treat the elephants. Maasai men sometimes kill the elephants. It seems the Maasai don’t particularly appreciate the elephants attacking Maasai tribesmen and their cows. The Kamba men, on the other hand, are gentle farmers who live among, but do not threaten, the elephants. Perhaps they don’t own cows. So, how does this affect elephant behavior? Maasai men like to wear red robes. Kamba men do not. So when the elephants see men in red robes approaching they react defensively. Usually they flee, or they will form defensive perimeters around their young. When the Kamba approach the elephants seem to be completely unconcerned and just go about their business. However, it seems to be the focus of The Zero and Moochelle. Most of their many efforts in these areas have had very little real impact other than political opportunism, PR, or pandering to one of their special interest groups. What's most sad is the total absence of Zero and Mooch taking a hard stand to address the real problems of the AA community and culture which they embrace. That community still embraces them... and a little hard talk (Bill Cosby style) might even have some impact on a few. Things have gotten worse rather than better with our first AA president. Our local news outlet has a feature on their website "Mug shots of the latest arrests". The most recent had 28 mugs... 25 AA, 2 Hispanic and 1 Caucasian. Most were for violent or really serious crimes. Sad statistics for 1/3 of the local population. Where are you Mr. Zero on acknowledging the problem?
