Wertheimer's conduct was first flagged five years ago by whistleblowers in a case that dragged on, frustrating members of Congress like Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and defying a speedy resolution to complaints of a hostile workplace where employees complained of being belittled for their physical attributes as well as their work performance. The new documents, obtained under the Freedom of Information Act by the Empower Oversight whistleblower group, are raising questions about whether politics influenced a supposedly neutral process conducted by the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency's Integrity Committee, the disciplinary arm of the inspector general community. He has also agreed to pay restitution to the charter schools he founded, Democracy Prep Public Schools, prosecutors said. Mr. Andrew was charged last April with stealing $218,000 from the network, which teaches mostly low-income students of color in New York and other states. Geee Posted January 29, 2022 Author Share Posted January 29, 2022 Something Stinks in the Illinois Governor's Office The more we learn about the Jenny Thornley affair, the more it appears that senior members of the Pritzker administration, including potentially the governor and his wife, may have facilitated a fraud on the state by a now-indicted former campaign aide to enrich her and then obstructed efforts to bring her to justice. This is a tangled web, so stay with me as I set forth a timeline of events and characters, according to the Chicago Tribune. The former executive director of the Illinois State Police Merit Board, Jack Garcia, discovered evidence that one of the employees under his direction, Jenny Thornley, was stealing money from the people of the state Garcia is a well-known, skilled investigator who previously supervised the divisions of internal investigations and forensic services, before becoming the first deputy director of the Illinois State Police. Thornley was a campaign aide for Gov. J.B. Pritzker (her husband, Jared, was also a senior political appointee at the Illinois comptroller’s office) and close enough to Pritzker and his wife, M.K., that she had their personal telephone numbers. After assembling the evidence and building the case, Garcia scheduled meetings to fire Thornley and refer her for prosecution on the morning of Feb. 3, 2020. However, on the eve of that day, Thornley contacted (at least) the governor's wife (pictured, at left) and asked her to intervene, alleging that Garcia had assaulted her sexually a week or so earlier. The governor’s chief counsel promptly called the merit board (which is an independent agency created “to remove political influence” from State Police hiring, promotion and discipline) to “advise” it to: (a) cancel her firing and the referral for prosecution, (b) suspend Garcia (the experienced investigator who uncovered the Thornley fraud) and (c) retain an outside counsel proposed by the governor’s office. The merit board went along, but also suspended Thornley, and Garcia voluntarily took and passed a lie detector test. Then Thornley sued to stop the investigation of her own claim of sexual harassment. The outside counsel, Christina Egan, nonetheless completed an investigation by July 2020 (at the cost of $500,000 paid by the people of Illinois), confirming the evidence Garcia assembled that Thornley had stolen money and committed forgery, and finding no evidence of Thornley’s sexual assault allegation. The State Police Merit Board then reinstated Garcia, fired Thornley, referred her for prosecution. She has now been indicted for theft and forgery. However, after Thornley was fired, someone with clout in the Pritzker administration somehow granted her disability payments reserved for people that are actually state employees. These payments (amounting to some $71,000) went on for more than a year, ending days before she was indicted for theft and fraud. Ilhan Omar has partied at and received donations from a business accused by the FBI of stealing millions of COVID relief dollars from children. Feeding Our Future received $197.9 million in 2021 to provide food to starving Minnesota children impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the FBI recently raided the nonprofit’s headquarters and suggested that little or none of this money was actually spent feeding kids. (Snip) Omar is not the only progressive politician who may have received stolen money as donations. The Sahan Journal reports that at least six men named by the FBI as being involved in the scandal donated to Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey. Two of these are owners of Safari. A third Frey donor, Abdikadir Mohamud, runs Stigma-Free — a group that was originally incorporated and run by Minneapolis City Council Member Jamal Osman. Stigma-Free also worked with Safari in perpetrating fraud, the FBI claims. Abdikadir Mohamud was appointed by the mayor to sit on a public safety working group late last year. Meanwhile, Aimee Bock, the leader of Feeding Our Future, maintains that she is innocent. “I believe that this is an attack on a community,” she said, apparently accusing the FBI of being racist against Somalis. Jahana Hayes Used Campaign Funds To Pay Family Thousands Of Dollars A fundraising group authorized by Democratic Connecticut Rep. Jahana Hayes has paid her family tens of thousands of dollars, using campaign contributions from donors to pay them since entering Congress, FEC records reviewed by the Daily Caller show. During Q4 2021, Hayes used her campaign fund, called “Friends of Jahana Hayes,” to pay her son $15,118.54 since entering Congress. In 2018, the Hartford Courant reported Hayes’ son David Crenshaw, age 24, joined Hayes to celebrate her Congressional victory. The FEC records, reviewed by the Daily Caller, show that Hayes paid over $15,000 in increments of $282.47 each to a person with the name David Crenshaw under the category of “Payroll”. The underlying case involves a massive fraud on the federal government in the USDA subsidized lunch program (loosened during Covid). The facts laid out in the three search warrants are shocking. I have embedded the second of the three warrants and supporting documents at the bottom of this post. My old friend Abdi Nur provides a sort of clearinghouse for news of interest to the Somali community on his Facebook page. Abdi is a patriotic American and supporter of law enforcement. This astounding report comes from Ben Shreckinger’s new book, ‘The Bidens: Inside the First Family’s Fifty-year Rise to Power‘, which was published on September 21st. The novel goes through how Biden managed to gain a victory from being thirty points behind in the Senate race against incumbent Senator J. Caleb Boggs. Sheeran, at the time, was an official for the Wilmington, Delaware Teamsters where Biden resided. According to the book, an unknown Democratic lawyer reportedly had a meeting with Sheeran and requested him to prevent the delivery of pro-Boggs Morning News and Evening Journal issues. These ads were meant to act as a rebuttal to Biden’s comments about Bogg’s previous voting record. Sheeran was quoted in the novel explaining how he would “…hire some people and put them on the picket line for him [Biden]. They were people nobody would mess with…”.
