346484.phpAce of Spades: Opposing Chris Christie Should Be A Matter Of Principle For Conservatives —DrewM.

“We all hate ObamaCare, we just disagree on tactics about how to get rid of it”. That was the cry of the anti-shutdown caucus back in September and October. But like most things you hear from Republicans, it was a lie.

Not all Republicans hate ObamaCare, some even implemented parts of it. One of the Republican governors to do so is Chris Christie (who also happens to be head of the Republican Governors Association).

So why should Republicans, let alone conservatives, defend Christie in his current times of troubles? I mean, shouldn’t we be happy to see a turncoat wounded in his quest to become the GOP nominee? Of course not says the establishment. You see when Ted Cruz was being attacked by the media many in the GOP not only refused to defend him, they rushed to join the attackers. But now that a member in good standing of the moderate wing is in trouble, well teamwork demands we all come to his aid. Scissors-32x32.png

Depends on who else is running. I generally prefer governors to legislators for President, and Christie has said and done some good things in NJ.

Christie is a "Repubican Rino",

If by chance he's the last man standing well of course I'll be forced to hold my nose and vote for him.

What is a Rino you ask well “Republican In Name Only” which fat boy did showed in his keynote speech at the RNC but the bear hug he gave Obama, which I firmly believe cost the party big time. I could go on and on but -- I won't cool.png

What is a Rino you ask well Republican In Name Only * which fat boy did showed in his keynote speech at the RNC but ** the bear hug he gave Obama, which I firmly believe cost the party big time. I could go on and on but -- I won't cool.png

* How So? A bad speech makes a person a RINO?

** One stupid (if it was stupid) move makes him a RINO?

What we see here is why I say that term RINO should be retired for 40....50 years. It has become a meaningless term. What is a RINO? Lincoln Chafee is a RINO, Arne Carlson is a RINO, Charlie Crist is a RINO. Chris Christie is not a RINO, he is a Center Right Republican, and that is not the same thing as being a RINO.

What it has come to mean is Someone I don't like or support.

John Cornyn launches first statewide ads in re-election campaign

Sen. John Cornyn’s ads call President Barack Obama “astonishingly liberal” and say Cornyn is taking a stand. “Fights for the truth from a dishonest administration,” the narrator says.

WASHINGTON — Sen. John Cornyn has launched the first statewide ad blitz of his re-election effort, and he’s keeping his aim squarely on President Barack Obama, ignoring Rep. Steve Stockman, his best-known rival in the March primary:

“ASTONISHINGLY LIBERAL”: In a 30-second TV spot and a minute-long radio version, Cornyn calls Obama “astonishingly liberal.” He ominously accuses Obama of trying to “change the very fabric of American life,” with references to Obamacare, the Benghazi attack and allegations that the IRS targeted conservative groups. The ads assert that Cornyn is standing up to the administration. “Lifelong conservative. Pro-life. Lives the Second Amendment. Tight-fisted with our taxpayer dollars. Fights for the truth from a dishonest administration,” the narrator says. Scissors-32x32.png

The Acela Republican

Rick Wilson

Chris Christie's problem isn't a pack of mouthbreathing staffers driven by spite and the petty thuggishness of an ugly, faux-Sopranos, tough guy campaign culture. The bridge scandal isn't even all that particularly interesting.

Christies's problem is that he's 2016's Acela Republican...and he believes his own press.

Who is the Acela Republican?

The Acela Republican is as comfortable in the green rooms of MSNBC as he is at a green energy conference. The Acela Republican isn't one of those horrible Tea Party yahoos who comes from somewhere other than a big, coastal metropolis. The Acela Republican is softer, smoother, and less confrontational...unless he's taking on his own party. snip

GOP establishment panics over Christie’s troubles: “I think we need Mitt back”

Allah:

Dude, it could happen. Three easy steps to Romney 3.0: He comes out strong for amnesty to mend fences with Latino voters; he finally decides to ix-nay the “makers and takers” etoric-rhay, and of course he chooses Mike Huckabee to be his VP. Can’t. Miss.

Seriously, though, this is just one Republican operative talking and he’s obviously joking. I think?

In interviews with more than a dozen party officials, fundraisers, and strategists in New York and Washington over the past 10 days, Republicans described a palpable sense of anxiety gripping the GOP establishment in the wake of Christie’s meltdown, and an emerging consensus that the once promising cast of candidates they were counting on to save the GOP from the Tea Party — and the nation from Hillary Clinton — is looking less formidable by the week…Scissors-32x32.pnghttp://floppingaces.net/most_wanted/gop-establishment-panics-over-christies-troubles-i-think-we-need-mitt-back/

I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me (small words please) why this is an important story. So the question is....Why are they panicking.

Why are we (on the right) taking our cue as to what is an important story from the likes of PMSNBC?
