Geee
The Hill: New emails link a top aide to New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie to lane closures that snarled traffic on the George Washington Bridge last year, the clearest connection between the Republican and a growing scandal that threatens his presidential prospects. According to emails obtained by the Bergen County Record, Bridget Anne Kelly, a deputy chief of staff to the governor, instructed a Port Authority official appointed by Christie to create “traffic problems” in Fort Lee, the Democratic mayor of which had declined to endorse Christie for reelection. “Time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee,” she emailed David Wildstein, a high-school friend of the governor. Wildstein emailed back: “Got it.” The governor faced swift and outspoken outrage from Democrats in the statehouse, some of whom saw the emails as the "smoking gun" tying Christie to the closures, as N.J. Sen. Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg, who represents the Fort Lee area, put it. She told The Hill that the new revelations concerning the closures were “worse than I imagined.”
