Draggingtree
The Other McCain : ‘Discrimination,’ Arguing by Exceptions, and the Obvious Insanity of Androgyny Posted on | December 26, 2013 Liberalism’s obsession with equality requires us to pretend that such distinctions as “male” and “female” are ultimately meaningless, and that any policy which recognizes these categories as significant must be abolished in order to prevent discrimination. This is where the rhetoric of liberalism is exposed as a species of madness. While proclaiming their devotion to “diversity,” what liberals are actually striving for is homogeneity and conformity: All institutions must be equally diverse. Institutions that are not “diverse” — all-male clubs or all-female schools or all-black fraternities — are inherently discriminatory, by this logic, which is how the American Studies Association justifies boycotting Israel, making the Jewish nature of the Israeli state analogous to apartheid. In this way, “diversity” becomes the enemy of pluralism, and the next thing you know, you’re
Draggingtree
December 28, 2013 Camille Paglia: “What you’re seeing is how a civilization commits suicide.” [Darleen Click] The war on masculine virtues [N]o subject gets her going more than when I ask if she really sees a connection between society’s attempts to paper over the biological distinction between men and women and the collapse of Western civilization. She starts by pointing to the diminished status of military service. “The entire elite class now, in finance, in politics and so on, none of them have military service—hardly anyone, there are a few. But there is no prestige attached to it anymore. That is a recipe for disaster,” she says. “These people don’t think in military ways, so there’s this illusion out there that people are basically nice, people are basically kind, if we’re just nice and benevolent to everyone they’ll be nice too. They literally don’t have any sense of evil or criminality.” The results, she says, can be seen in everything from the dysfunction in Washington (where politicians “lack practical skills of analysis and construction”) to what women wear. “So many women don’t realize how vulnerable they are by what they’re doing on the street,” she says, referring to women who wear sexy clothes. - See more at: http://proteinwisdom.com/#sthash.7O4Af9Jy.dpuf
Draggingtree
Marine Corps quietly delays pullup requirement for womenBy ASHE SCHOW | DECEMBER 27, 2013 AT 1:31 PM The Marine Corps has delayed the requirement for female Marines to do three pullups because most women have so far been unable to pass the test. For 40 years, male recruits were required to perform three pullups to prove their upper body strength for combat, where they would need to carry heavy equipment and potentially lift themselves out of mud walls. Starting Jan. 1, female recruits would have been required to do the same. But 55 percent of female recruits could not complete all three pullups, compared to just 1 percent of male recruits who could not, so the requirement was delayed. The Marine Corps made the announcement without fanfare on Twitter and its TV show, the Corps Report. http://washingtonexaminer.com/marine-corps-quietly-delays-pullup-requirement-for-women/article/2541251

The Case for Female SEALs Why the military is going about integrating the sexes all wrong: Women need to be in elite positions on special forces teams before they'll be accepted among the grunts of the infantry. Elliot Ackerman Dec 24 2013 Last month, three women became the first of their sex to graduate from the Marine Corps famously grueling Advanced Infantry Training Course. The Marine Corps was asking a simple question by running small groups through these courses in experimental test batches, two to five women at a time: Can the female body withstand the rigors of infantry training? The answer, these women showed, is that it can. (Snip)
Valin
December 28, 2013 Camille Paglia: “What you’re seeing is how a civilization commits suicide.” [Darleen Click] I must share the pain...... DU: Camille Paglia: A Feminist Defense of Masculine Virtues Two Completely Different Worlds. Do Yourself a favor....... Jan 10, 2014 In this very revealing and insightful interview spawned by a recent Wall Street Journal article (http://tinyurl.com/q2zyaz9), Dennis Prager asks honest questions about Camille's positions on identity politics. She can answer a bit better than most because she is a lesbian, and when discussion turns to how vile the left can be versus the religious right... she speaks from the view of a non-religious (atheist) person.
