Geee
National Review: As a Jew, and a religious one at that, I want to wish my fellow Americans a Merry Christmas. Not “Happy Holidays.” Merry Christmas. I write, “my fellow Americans” because, as reported by the Pew Research poll released just last Wednesday, nine in ten Americans say they celebrate Christmas. t Apparently, many Americans have forgotten that Christmas is not only a Christian holy day, but also an American national holiday. Just as we wish one another a “Happy Thanksgiving” or a “Happy Fourth,” so, too, we should wish fellow Americans a “Merry Christmas.” It doesn’t matter with which religion or ethnic group you identify; Christmas in America is as American as the proverbial apple pie. That is why some of the most famous and beloved Christmas songs were written by . . . guess who? Jews.
Valin
@Geee On a related note from the You Never Know What You'll Find File Radical Islam, US Army & vs Ahmadiyya Islam on Christmas (Snip) Comments Lorenzo Poe 12/27/13 When I was in Afghanistan, I was the Command Sergeant Major of an organization that was 80% civilian. I walked into a meeting that was already in progress. It was about our Christmas celebration. I got there just in time to hear a women tell the group that since she was not Christian, she would be offended by religious carols and that she would make a list of carols that wouldnt offend her. My exact words were prepare to be offended. We sang all the Christmas carols in the book, put up a tree, heck we even scheduled time for the Commanding General to help with the decorations, which he did. I put out a list of what was going on where, if you didnt want to be offended you avoided those areas. I am selling my cloak and buying a sword in the New Year. Maybe two.
