Here are five things to know about the Christmas tradition. 1. How can I follow Santa's path? NORAD's Santa operations centre opens at 11am GMT on December 24. Children can get updates by phone, Facebook, Twitter and email, while an online map will give a minute by minute guide to Santa's progress. There are also smartphone apps available at app stores.
