CHRISTIANS: On the Front Lines of Muslim Violence

The Indonesian Jihad on Christian Churches

In compliance with Islamic demands, Indonesian authorities in the Aceh region have started to tear down Christian churches. Their move comes after Muslim mobs rampaged and attacked churches. At least one person was killed; thousands of Christians were displaced.

On Friday, October 9, after being fired up during mosque sermons, hundreds of Muslims marched to the local authority's office and demanded that all unregistered churches in Aceh be closed. Imams issued text messages spurring Muslims from other areas to rise up against churches and call for their demolition.

On Monday, October 12, authorities facilitated a meeting with Islamic leaders and agreed to demolish 10 unregistered churches over the course of two weeks.

Apparently this was not fast enough to meet Muslim demands for immediate action. On the following day, a mob of approximately 700 Muslims, some armed with axes and machetes, torched a local church, even though it was not on the list of churches agreed upon for demolition.Scissors-32x32.png

On the heels of the administration’s plans to fast track the entry of Syrian refugees to the U.S., President Obama said after meeting with a group of Rohingya Muslim refugees from Myanmar:

“As long as I’m president, we’re going to keep on stepping up and making sure that America remains as it has always been, a place where people who, in other parts of the world, are subject to discrimination or violence, that they have in America a friend and a place of refuge,” Mr. Obama said. “We have shown that the we can welcome refugees and ensure our security – that there’s no contradiction.”

“When we talk about American leadership, American leadership is us caring about people who have been forgotten or who have been discriminated against or who’ve been tortured or who’ve been subject to unspeakable violence or who’ve been separated from families at very young ages,” he said Saturday. Experts Urge John Kerry to Include Christians in State Department Middle East Genocide Finding

A silent persecution of Christians tantamount to genocide is ongoing in the Middle East, according to experts in Washington.

Last week, at a panel organized by The Heritage Foundation to discuss modern Christian martyrs, academic, religious, and media leaders discussed the persecution—as well as the inattention being paid to the issue by developed nations including the United States.

“I am always struck by how utterly abandoned the patriarchs and church leaders [in the Middle East] whose lives are on the line every day … how utterly abandoned they feel by the West, and particularly the United States,” said Kathryn Jean Lopez, a senior fellow with the National Review Institute and one of the event’s co-hosts.

According to recent estimates, the Christian population in Iraq has dropped to roughly 260,000, down from 1.5 million a decade agoScissors-32x32.png

Christianity In The Middle East: On The Verge Of Extinction

One million three hundred thousand Iraqi Christians have been displaced, murdered or taken prisoner since 2003. A centuries old civilization now faces permanent extinction while the rest of the world, including the U.S. government, looks on.

As Christians across the world begin to celebrate Christmas, the 300,000 remaining Christians displaced in Iraq and Syria are preparing for a harsh winter that will almost certainly dwindle their numbers further. Islamic State has been assaulting Christianity in the Middle East for well over a year and a half, and now the few remaining will be forced to brave the elements in the face of a genocide.

“Assyrian culture is melting,” says Juliana Taimoorazy, head of the Iraqi Christian Relief Council, a group dedicated to aiding Christians being persecuted in the Middle East in an interview with The Daily Caller News Foundation. Taimoorazy is making a desperate push to try and raise money to save Assyrian Christians in Iraq before winter settles in. “We want to buy caravans,” says Taimoorazy, referring to the camper-style vehicles that can serve as temporary shelters equipped with running water and electricity.

Why Has the Church Abandoned the Christians of the Middle East?

Why is the Archbishop of Canterbury, who is the symbolic head of 85 million Christians worldwide, expressing shock at yet another terrorist attack perpetrated by the Islamic State?

Had he paid more than just fleeting attention to his fellow Christians in Iraq and Syria, he would know that the Islamic State has been slaughtering Christians in the Middle East since 2006. How much more time did he need?

Without referring by name to the Islamic State, and speaking as if some invisible force of nature were at play here, Pope Francis I deplored "thousands of people, including many Christians, driven from their homes in a brutal manner; children dying of thirst and hunger in their flight; women kidnapped; people massacred; violence of every kind."Scissors-32x32.png

One Christian Slaughtered Every Five Minutes

Throughout September, as more Christians were slaughtered and persecuted for their religion -- not just by the Islamic State but by "everyday" Muslims from all around the world -- increasing numbers of people and organizations called for action. Meanwhile, those best placed to respond -- chief among them U.S. President Barack Obama and Pope Francis -- did nothing.

"Why, we ask the western world, why not raise one's voice over so much ferocity and injustice?" asked Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco, the head of the Italian Bishops Conference.

Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarch Gregory III said: "I do not understand why the world does not raise its voice against such acts of brutality."

As one report put it: "Human rights activists see it. Foreign leaders see it. And more than 80 members of the U.S. Congress see it. Together, they are pressuring the leader of the free world [President Obama] to declare there is a Christian genocide going on in the Middle East."

In response, the White House said it was preparing to release a statement accusing the Islamic State of committing genocide against religious minorities, naming and recognizing various groups, such as the Yazidis, as victims. However, Christians are apparently not going to be included as victims, as Obama officials argue that Christians "do not appear to meet the high bar set out in the genocide treaty."Scissors-32x32.png

BOMBED, BURNED, AND URINATED ON: CHURCHES UNDER ISLAM

Muslim Attacks on Christian Churches

Iraq: The Islamic State detonated the nation’s oldest Christian monastery, St. Elijah’s. . The 27,000-square-foot building had stood near Mosul for 14 centuries. For several years, prior to 2009, U.S. soldiers protected and sometimes used the monastery as a chapel. “Our Christian history in Mosul is being barbarically leveled,” reported a Roman Catholic priest in Irbil. “We see it as an attempt to expel us from Iraq, eliminating and finishing our existence in this land.” Yet, when Col. Steve Warren, spokesman for America’s military efforts against ISIS, was asked about the status of Christians in Iraq soon after the monastery’s destruction, he replied “We’ve seen no specific evidence of a specific targeting toward Christians.”

Kosovo: Muslims urinated in an Orthodox Christian church in Pristina, the capital. Deputy Prime Minister Branimir Stojanovic condemned the desecration of the Temple of Christ the Savior: “Urinating in a sanctuary is shameful, uncivilized, vandalism.” (Last year in Italy, Muslims broke a statue of the Virgin Mary and also urinated on it.) Stojanovic added that, “The quiet observation of the demonstrators by the police, as they entered the temple and urinated is also shameful.” “Serbian [i.e., Christian] sanctuaries in Kosovo are constantly desecrated,” the deputy prime minister said.

Algeria: On January 7, unknown vandals damaged, robbed, and wrote jihadi slogans on a church. Furniture, ritual objects, and money worth about U.S. $8,000 were stolen from Light Church in Tizi-Ouzou, around 62 miles from Algiers. According to Pastor Mustapha Krireche, “Thieves broke into the inside of our church through the window, because we installed a reinforced door very hard to force open…. They took the music equipment like guitars, synthesizer, percussion, and sound equipment, plus a printer, the trunk of tithes, a sum of money, and other material.” The assailants left Islamic supremacist graffiti on the church walls including “Allah Akbar.” The church was targeted at least twice before: in 2009, “about 20 Islamist neighbors tried to block the congregation … from meeting for worship”; in 2010, a group of Muslims rampaged through the church building, trying to burn it down and damaging Bibles and a cross. MUSLIMS RESPONSIBLE FOR 'WORST YEAR IN MODERN HISTORY OF CHRISTIAN PERSECUTION'

pen Doors, an organization that advocates for persecuted Christians, recently released its latest World Watch List—a report that highlights and ranks the 50 worst nations to be Christian. It found that 2015 was the “worst year in modern history for Christian persecution.”

Who claims the lion’s share of this unprecedented persecution? Muslims—of all races, nationalities, languages, and socio-political circumstances: Muslims from among America’s closest allies (Saudi Arabia #14 worst persecutor) and its opponents (Iran #9); Muslims from economically rich nations (Qatar #21) and from poor nations (Somalia #7 and Yemen #11); Muslims from “Islamic republic” nations (Afghanistan #4) and from “moderate” nations (Malaysia #30 and Indonesia #43); Muslims from nations rescued by America (Kuwait #41) and Muslims from nations claiming “grievances” against the U.S. (fill in the blank __).

The report finds that “Islamic extremism” is the main source of persecution in 41 of the top 50 countries—that is, 82 percent of the world’s persecution of Christians is being committed by Muslims. As for the top ten worst countries persecuting Christians, nine of them are Muslim-majority—that is, 90 percent of nations where Christians experience “extreme persecution” are Muslim.

Still, considering that the 2016 World Watch List ranks North Korea—non-Islamic, communist—as the number one worst persecutor of Christians, why belabor the religious identity of Muslims? Surely this suggests that Christian persecution is not intrinsic to the Islamic world but is rather a product of repressive regimes and other socio-economic factors—as the North Korean example suggests and as many politicians and other talking heads maintain?Scissors-32x32.png

We Must Act: Time Is Running Out to Stop the Christian Genocide in Iraq and Syria

When I went to Israel for the first time in the summer of 2014, I visited the Museum of the Bible. Inside I found a Bible from 9th Century Mosul, Iraq, carefully protected behind glass walls. The wood bound Bible’s handwritten and delicate pages, with a Syriac translation of the Gospels, struck me more than the rest of all the history in the museum as the Islamic State continued its march across Iraq, destroying centuries-old Christian sites and executing an entire religious population along the way.

According to a study released last year by the charity Aid to the Church in Need, Christians will be extinct in Iraq and Syria within five years. Today, there are fewer than 250,000 in the region, a fraction of the previous population of 1.5 million. This is genocide and it’s far past time the Obama administration and the State Department properly classify it as such.

By March 14, the State Department is expected to make an official determination about genocide classification for what ISIS is doing to Christians in the Middle East. A letter has been submitted on behalf of a number of Assyrian and Iraqi Christian relief organizations to Secretary of State John Kerry and President Obama, laying out the legal case for a genocide classification. For political reasons, the administration has been hesitant to use the word. Just last week White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest acknowledged the targeting of Christians by ISIS, but refused to classifying it as genocide. Scissors-32x32.png

INCONVENIENT GENOCIDE

The Christian communities of Iraq, Syria, Egypt and Lebanon are well on the way to joining their Jewish cousins. The Jewish communities of these states predated Islam by a millennium, and were vibrant until the 20th century. But the Arab world’s war on the Jewish state, and more generally on Jews, wiped out the Jewish populations several decades ago.

And now the Christian communities, which like the Jews, predate Islam, are being targeted for eradication.

The ongoing genocide of Middle Eastern Christians at the hands of Sunni jihadists is a moral outrage. Does it also affect Israeli national interests? What do we learn from the indifference of Western governments – led by the Obama administration – to their annihilation? True, after years of deliberately playing down the issue and denying the problem, the Obama administration is finally admitting it exists.

Embarrassed by the US House of Representatives’ unanimous adoption of a resolution last month recognizing that Middle Eastern Christians are being targeted for genocide, the State Department finally acknowledged the obvious on March 25, when Secretary of State John Kerry stated that Islamic State is conducting a “genocide of Christians, Yazidis and Shi’ites.”

Kerry’s belated move, which State Department lawyers were quick to insist has no operational significance, raises two questions.Scissors-32x32.png

Palestinians: Erasing Christian History

For Palestinian Christians, the destruction of the ancient Byzantine church ruins is yet a further attempt by Palestinian Muslim leaders to efface both Christian history and signs of any Christian presence in the West Bank and Gaza, under the Palestinian Authority (PA) and Hamas. A growing number of Christians feel they are being systematically targeted by both the PA and Hamas for being Christians.

Bulldozers were used to destroy some of the church artifacts; some Palestinian Christians accused both Hamas and the PA of copying ISIS tactics to demolish historic sites.

"Where are the heads of the churches in Jerusalem and the world?... Where are the Vatican and UNESCO? Where are the leaders and politicians who talk, talk, talk about national unity and the preservation of holy sites? Or is this a collective conspiracy to end our existence and history in the East?" — Sami Khalil, a Christian from the West Bank city of Nablus.

The plight of Palestinian Christians does not interest the international community. That is because Israel cannot be blamed for demolishing the antiquities. If the current policy against Christians persists, the day will come when no Christians will be left in Bethlehem.Scissors-32x32.png

HOW ISLAM ERASED CHRISTIANITY FROM HISTORY

While Christianity continues to be physically erased from the Middle East, lesser known is that its historical role and presence is also being expunged from memory.

Last month a video emerged showing Islamic State members tossing hundreds of Christian textbooks, many of them emblazoned with crosses, into a large bonfire. As one report put it, ISIS was “burning Christian textbooks in an attempt to erase all traces of” Christianity from the ancient region of Mosul, where Christianity once thrived for centuries before the rise of Islam.

As usual, ISIS is ultimately an extreme example of Islam’s normative approach. This was confirmed during a recent conference in Amman, Jordan hosted by the Jerusalem Center for Political Studies. While presenting, Dr. Hena al-Kaldani, a Christian, said that “there is a complete cancelation of Arab Christian history in the pre-Islamic era,” “many historical mistakes,” and “unjustifiable historic leaps in our Jordanian curriculum.” “Tenth grade textbooks omit any mention of any Christian or church history in the region.” Wherever Christianity is mentioned, omissions and mischaracterizations proliferate, including the portrayal of Christianity as a Western (that is, “foreign”) source of colonization, said al-Kaldani.Scissors-32x32.png

Before Dying, Iraqi Christian Girl Who Was Burnt Alive by ISIS Tells Mother to 'Forgive Them'
Allan I. Varquez
May 20, 2016

Nothing is more painful for the Christian mother from Mosul, Iraq than to witness her 12-year-old daughter suffer and die in her arms. Adding that agony were her daughter's plea for her murderers "forgive them."

ISIS militants barged into their house demanding for Jizya - a tax for non-Muslim living in their controlled territories. There was a short negotiation between the ISIS and the girl's mother before the militants torched their house.

They escaped the blaze, but the girl suffered fourth degree burn all over her body. At the hospital and before death took her, the girl told her mother one last thing in a mumbling voice about her murderers "forgive them" - a scenario reminiscent of Jesus' uttering the first of his seven last words as he lay dying on the cross.

Her story was among the hundreds of accounts of Christian persecution heard in New York last month. A human rights advocate described how the young girl had been in the shower when the jihadists came knocking.

"You have two choices, you are to leave or you are to pay the Jizya," they told the girl's mother in a harsh voice. The mother asked for some seconds because her daughter was still in a shower room.

"I will pay, just give me a few seconds, my daughter is in the shower," the mother was quoted by human right advocate Jacqueline Isaac as saying. But the ISIS became more agitated and blurted "you don't have a few seconds" and set their house on fire.

Mosul Archbishop: ISIS Took Our Houses, Lands, Life, Dignity, and History

(CNSNews.com) – Mgr. Nicodemus Daoud Sharaf, the Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of Mosul, said last week during a visit to Strasbourg, France that when ISIS came to Mosul and the Nineveh Plains, “they take our churches, they take our monasteries, they take our houses, our lands, our money, our life, our dignity, our history.”

Sharaf spoke with the European Centre for Law & Justice (ECLJ), an affiliate of the American Centre for Law & Justice, following a reception to raise awareness of the genocide Christians face in the Middle East.

“When ISIS come to the Mosul and the Nineveh Plains regions, they take everything from us, they take our churches, they take our monasteries, they take our houses, our lands, our money, our life, our dignity, our history,” he said.

He cited the terrorist group’s destruction of a manuscript from the second century and a fourth century monastery.

“We lost those books, we lost our churches,” he said, and added, “they destroyed the privacy of the family… and this is very, very bad.”Scissors-32x32.png

ISIS Celebrates Ramadan by Burning 19 Caged Yazidi Girls to Death After They Refuse Sex

Posted by Jammie on Jun 06, 2016 at 6:41 am

While the likely Democrat nominee for presidnet was busy pandering to Muslims, she apparently overlooked this horrific story out of Iraq. We wonder if the phony “War on Women” clwons will have any comment.

ISIS jihadis executed 19 Yazidi girls in Iraq by locking them in iron cages and then burning them to death in front of hundreds of people.

The victims were taken hostage by the terror group to be used as sex slaves but were put to death in Mosul for refusing to have sex with the militants.

ISIS took over the Yazidi region in northern Iraq in August 2014 causing the displacement of nearly 40,000 people.

The terror group also slaughtered many of the Yazidi people and took women and kept women and young girls as sex slaves.

And local media activist Abdullah al-Malla told the Kurdish-run ARA News: ‘They were punished for refusing to have sex with ISIS militants.’

While an eyewitness told the agency: ‘The 19 girls were burned to death, while hundreds of people were watching.Scissors-32x32.png

WILL THE TERRORIZATION OF EGYPT’S CHRISTIANS 'NEVER STOP'?

In a chronically familiar scene, angry, rioting Muslims in Egypt burned down around 80 Christian homes on June 17. In the words of one of the victims, Moses Zarif,

On Friday afternoon, after noon prayers, a large number of Muslims gathered in the front of the new house of my cousin because a rumor had spread in the village that it would be turned into a church. They were chanting slogans against us: “By no means will there be a church here” and “Egypt will remain Islamic!”

According to the report, rioting Muslims beat the two cousins, attacked the building, destroyed all construction materials, and threw rocks at any Christian trying to intervene. Then they "turned their wrath on the Christian homes adjacent to the building, hurled rocks, looted houses and set fire to any Christian property in their wake."

When the local priest heard what was happening, he rushed to the scene -- only to be attacked while in his car; the Muslims climbed on it, stomped on it, and damaged it.

SHOULDN’T WE FIRST HELP THE CHRISTIAN VICTIMS OF MIDEAST GENOCIDE?

Before dawn Monday, four suicide bombers killed five and wounded at least a dozen in the Lebanese Christian town of al-Qaa. Later that night, as townspeople prepared to bury their dead, four more suicide bombers hit.

The attacks underscored just how endangered are Christians who live in today’s Muslim world. As the United States debates how many Mideast refugees to accept and who should get priority, the answer is staring us in the face: Those most in need of refuge are Christians and Yazidis who live among Muslims.

On June 19, a suicide bomber killed three people as he detonated himself at a memorial to massacred Christians in Qumishi, Syria. On June 9, a Pakistani Muslim mob badly beat a man merely because he was a Christian. On June 5, two people were killed when Islamists targeted a church with rockets in Syria; the same day, a Christian man was hacked to death at his shop by Islamists in Bangladesh. On June 2, in Nigeria, Muslim youths beheaded a Christian woman for allegedly insulting Mohammed.

And that’s just this month — a typical month, sadly, for the world’s Christians.Scissors-32x32.png

WORTHLESS CHRISTIANS’ TREATED ‘LIKE ANIMALS’

The following anecdotes of Muslim persecution of Christians around the world occurred or were reported in April. They are categorized by theme, or familiar patterns:

Muslim Attacks on Christian Churches

United States: A pro-ISIS group calling itself the United Cyber Caliphate defaced the website of the Christian Reformed Church in the city of Lamont, Michigan. A 15-year-old teenage girl discovered the website’s defacement—which consisted of a YouTube ISIS propaganda video and Arabic text—while searching for the church’s phone number. The video’s spokesman says, “We will conquer your Rome, break your crosses and enslave your women by the permission of Allah, the Exalted. This is His promise to us, He is glorified and He does not fail in His promise.”

Ethiopia: Rioting Muslims accusing Christians of converting Muslims rampaged throughout the East Shewa Zone. They burned down 14 churches—belonging to Orthodox, Catholic, and Protestant denominations—and left more than 2,000 Christians without worship venues. One church cemetery was also vandalized. A church leader said: “We have been worshipping outside and sitting on the bare ground bearing the hot sun. We appeal to our brothers elsewhere to come and assist us. The attackers poured petrol and were chanting ‘Allahu Akbar’ [Allah is greater] before setting the church building on fire.” Ethiopia’s population is 60 percent Christian and 34 percent Muslim.Scissors-32x32.png

Since America Won’t Stop Christian Genocide, Israel Should

Israel is the only hope Arab Christians have left

I own a cassette tape of five-year-old me reciting an Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party chant I learned at school in Baghdad. Roughly translated, it begins: “Ba’athi Ba’athi, this is my manifesto…”

This children’s ditty goes on to celebrate the nationalization of oil, and the July revolution of 1958 when Abd al-Karim Qasim and cohort executed a coup d’état against the British backed monarchy of King Faisel II, overthrowing him for a “republic” whose goal was to advance pan-Arabism. In another segment, taped when I was in second grade, my father asks me what I was learning in school. I answer with the tripartite “Wahda, hurriyya, u ishteeraqkia”—oneness, freedom, and socialism.

The Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party propaganda taught that these ideals were: the oneness of all Arab countries—regardless of their cultural difference—uniting under one foundational national government against imperialism; freedom, which lies in liberating Arabs from oppression by foreign powers; and socialism, which is transferring the means of production in the Arab economy from being privately held to being government-controlled.

This childhood experience of mine came to mind recently when I watched a video of Palestinian children (particularly a little girl at the end) regurgitating vile hatred and violence toward Israelis. The surreal horror of anti-Semitism instilled in Arab children came home to me. The girl—who looks no older than five years old—shouts “Stab! Stab! Stab!” while slashing the air with a knife.

It is a mark of authoritarian governments to indoctrinate the children of their nation, not so much with patriotic pride but contempt, hostility, and suspicion of others. The Middle Eastern countries are no exception. Even now the warring factions within Syria each indoctrinate the children within their domain using a curriculum that suits their factional goals. For example, the Syrian government replaced French with Russian as the second mandatory foreign language to show “gratitude to Russia for its political, logistical, and military support of the Assad regime.”

Is Administration Doing Anything About ISIS Genocide Against Christians? Lawsuit Filed

(CNSNews.com) – Seeking to establish what the Obama administration is doing in response to the genocide being waged by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS/ISIL) against Christians, the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) filed a lawsuit Tuesday, after the State Department failed to respond to earlier to Freedom of Information Act requests.

It’s been five months and 14 days since Secretary of State John Kerry declared, in response to a legislative requirement – and after months of advocacy from the ACLJ and others – that atrocities being carried out by ISIS against Christians, Yazidis, and other minorities in the areas it controls constitutes genocideScissors-32x32.png

ISIS Genocide Continues: Yazidi Girl Kidnapped, Sold, Raped, Impregnated, Baby Boy Taken From Her

Thousands of Christians and Yazidis have been persecuted and killed by the Islamic State, which is implementing genocide against these minorities and, as survivor Nihad Alawsi recently recounted, in her case she was kidnapped, raped, sold as a sex slave, raped again, impregnated, and after she gave birth to a baby boy who she discovered she loved – “he was a part of me” -- the child was taken away from her.

“They brought the baby to me and he looked up at me,” said Alawsi, 16, in a video released by NRT News and promoted by the AMAR International Charitable Foundation. “I felt he was a part of me and I loved him.”Scissors-32x32.png

Christian Father Beheaded by ISIS: 'Teach My Children the Principles of Jesus Christ'

Among the 21 Coptic Christian workers beheaded on a beach in Libya last year by ISIS was a father who, before he went to Libya as a migrant worker, told his wife he knew it was dangerous and that if he did not make it back alive, to please teach their children "the principles of Jesus Christ." So testified lawyer and humanitarian Jacqueline Isaac, who met in Egypt with the families of 15 of the 21 victims and told Congress about the genocide being perpetrated by the Islamic State.

Jacqueline Isaac, vice president of the humanitarian group Roads of Success, spoke at a May 13, 2015 hearing on ISIS and religious minorities held by the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Despite the horrific stories and documentation she presented to the committee along with other witnesses, none of the major news broadcast outlets covered the hearing -- not ABC, CBS, or NBC. Patriarch of Antioch: Survival of Christians in Cradle of Christianity is in Danger

On the night of August 6-7, 2014, one hundred fifty thousand people—some 40 percent of all Christians still living in Iraq—were driven from their ancestral communities. They had nowhere to flee except nearby Kurdistan.

Two years have passed since that catastrophic eradication, and still there is no real solution. In Mosul too, Christian and other minority groups were murdered, and women and children were raped and abducted by the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.

For five and a half years, the sectarian war in Syria has raged. The devastation in this country is beyond all description. Hundreds of thousands have died, millions are displaced, and the influx of migrants continues to threaten the lives of desperate people, as well as Europe as a whole. It is a hecatomb that has befallen Syria, a country that had one of the most secularized governments in the Middle East.

We, the Church pastors, kept warning Westerners who pretended to have the right to interfere in Syria in the name of democracy that fomenting violence would surely lead to terrible sectarian war because of the complex religious and ethnic diversity in Syria. We knew innocent people, primarily Christians and minorities, would suffer most.Scissors-32x32.png
