clearvision
Daily News: A massive tornado ripped through Moore, Okla., Monday afternoon, leveling a huge swath of a residential area in the suburb of Oklahoma City. Video footage from KFOR-TV showed houses, businesses and at least two schools completely demolished, with cars strewn about. Police and emergency crews have begun to respond, but debris has clogged roadways. There is no tally yet on injuries or deaths, but news anchors said significant casualties are expected. At least one large fire has broken out amid the rubble. The twister is already being compared to the May 3, 1999 storm that ripped through Moore and killed almost 150 people and caused more the $1 billion in damage. This one, possibly an F5, the largest classification, was a bigger tornado.

cudjo
and just a couple of weeks ago on local news they were wondering why we haven't had our usual number of tornados
clearvision
Hopefully new technology to predict storms, warn of them and having been hit 15 years ago had them well prepared and in shelter will reduce the death toll, but the damage is horrendous. clearvision
Shep is crazy, making up stories. Showing people digging thru rubble in a close up pan, wondering why they are digging there, saying no medical help on way, emergency can't get there... camera pans out dozens of emergency vehicles all around. clearvision
Shep says emergency can't get there.... sigh... It is flat, drive around thru the grass. All video shows lots of emergency vehicles responding. If anything there is a shortage of response because of the massive need, but certainly a block road is minor. Switching Channels. cudjo
Jessica is on her way to Moore to pick up family, they told her what roads to use to get them. Her aunt and uncle's house and cars are gone. They found their kids and Jessica's younger brother and his wife lived behind the 7-11 that was hit, their place is completely gone too. He had left without his cell phone and it took him 3 hours to walk to where they were, his wife and her son made it through in the bathtub and he finally found them.

Rheo
Thank God they found the kids and they are safe. Cannot imagine what they are going through. Can't stop crying. Crazy thinking. I keep thinking because Zach passed this morning. He is there welcoming those little kids home and will take care of them.
