Eight Months Too Late, The Media See The Real Obama

Accountability: Suddenly, President Obama is mired in multiple scandals. If his friends in the media had been doing their jobs, they would have realized who he was well before last year's election.

The Washington Post's "Fact Checker" hands out cute little "Pinocchios" to politicians who stretch the truth. But a lot of the time that long nose obstructs the little wooden boy's vision.

On Tuesday, for example, the Post gave Obama "Four Pinocchios" — the worst rating on its lie-ometer — for his recently repeated claim that "the day after (the Benghazi attack), I acknowledged that this was an act of terrorism."

The Post pondered — all this time after the November election — whether Obama "did not want to spoil his campaign theme that terror groups such as al-Qaida were on the run by conceding a terrorist attack had occurred on the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks."

But Obama infamously contended the exact same thing in the second debate with Mitt Romney last year: "The day after the attack, governor, I stood in the Rose Garden and I told the American people and the world that ... this was an act of terror."

Obama's Scandals Stem from His Lawless Presidency

 

Last Friday, after the Associated Press learned about the Justice Department's sweeping seizure of its phone records, AP CEO Gary Pruitt said "there can be no possible justification" for the action.

No doubt that's true. But there also seems to be no possible justification for the many other scandals now swamping the Obama administration — from Benghazi, to the IRS scandal to the White House's attempt to shake down health companies for ObamaCare money.

Except that they all stem from a common root — President Obama's callous disregard for the rule of law.

When not grousing about "this big, messy, tough democracy," or joking about having the IRS audit groups that don't do his bidding, or talking about how "we're gonna punish our enemies" (meaning his political opponents), Obama has repeatedly and casually flouted legal roadblocks whenever they got in the way of his agenda.
