House and Senate leaders on both sides of the Capitol are looking to minimize defections to pass their respective budget resolutions.

 

In order to pass their first budget resolution in four years, Senate Democrats can only afford five defections — assuming all Republicans vote “no.”

 

 

If all House members vote and the House Democratic Caucus is unified against Rep. Paul Ryan’s (R-Wis.) budget, Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and his lieutenants must limit defections to Scissors-32x32.png
