Washington Times:

Just as the U.S. military is indoctrinating troops to accept open gays in their ranks, a federal commission is pressing the Pentagon to make the force more diverse by, among other ideas, opening infantry and armor units to women.

With the Military Leadership Diversity Commission’s report out this month, its leaders have briefed Deputy Defense Secretary William J. Lynn and plan to deliver its 162-page report to every member of Congress.

The commission says it wants the military to resemble the ethnic makeup of America. It is urging the Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force to “validate” the standards — such as education, test scores, criminal records and drug use — that disqualify large numbers of blacks and Hispanics.snip

Frontloading the commission with the name of Military Leadership Diversity Commission, could we expect any other outcome?

" Diversity panel wants military to look like U.S."

Why should our military want to emulate our current nation and its leadership: flaccid, weak, and indecisive?

Forcing racial quotas can only have unintended consequences considering the facts of the world that exists today.

With a less than 55% high school graduation rate for blacks, compared to a greater than 80% rate for whites... the simple math says that meeting quotas for quotas sake will significantly impact the education level of the armed forces.

Also if college degrees are generally prerequisite for officer candidates, the pool of equally qualified candidates will be out of skew to the entire population by race. What does that say about participation and promotion based on merit?

These are uncomfortable statements but reflect the reality of our current population.

Set standards and ensure that everyone has an fair and equal opportunity to compete regardless of race.

I have no facts or sources to back up my feeble old brain but seems to me the military has evolved into a much higher caliber of folks since the days when NCT ('69-'73)was serving.

Back then the troops were either drafted or sent in as disciplinary correctional methods. It was not a pretty time.

I still remember a couple of privates (One might consider of the diversity mode who were waiting to see a military dentist talking about "juking" some officer they didn't like. Not unusual.

I have come to detest the perfectly good word "diversity" because the quota idea has been crammed down our throats in every area of life from schools to offices to neighborhoods.

I always think how the Bible's idea of diversity is the right one:

Christianity should be a religion of "diversity in UNITY".

NOT uniformity --while as usual the world has perverted the word into that very meaning UNIFORMITY AVERAGEness. Pull everyone down to the lowest common denominator and force us to like each other and get along (assimilate). Never has worked. Never will work. Socialism fails every time.

This battle with the 'Diversity Commission' is one the Pentagon better not lose, unless they want us to lose the next war.

The commission says it wants the military to resemble the ethnic makeup of America. It is urging the Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force to “validate” the standards — such as education, test scores, criminal records and drug use — that disqualify large numbers of blacks and Hispanics

There are some people who earn the right to serve in the armed forces. Trying to jam non-qualifiers down their throats is the ultimate in PC non-starters.

Damn Valin!

You better not let that video get out.

I could spell the end to a whole race pimping industry and a major political party.

(It really took Wallace off his game plan and left him stuttering and spewing.)
