FOX News:

A conflict approaching civil war in Libya. An end-times tsunami in Japan. A Congress that can't reach a budget.

And ... gender inequality?

The topic of President Obama's weekend radio address has raised some eyebrows, as Obama has met mounting crises with the same restraint and cool that characterized his slow-and-steady campaign for president. To some critics, the tone set by the White House in light of recent upheaval may hurt the president's public image.

Amid chaos around the world and on Capitol Hill, Obama's Saturday radio address was devoted to Women's History Month and a call to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act, a proposal meant to address the income gap between men and women. Then, the president went golfing at Andrews Air Force Base.

"I don't know if they don't realize the disconnect and maybe they don't care ... but it does matter," Dana Perino, former White House press secretary under George W. Bush, told Fox News. :snip:

"After the Asian ally [Japan] was stricken by an earthquake Friday, the president turned some heads for using the word "unshakeable" to describe the United States' alliance with Japan." :lmfao:

He might as well go play golf -- all he continues to do is vote "present."

"Michelle and I send our deepest condolences to the people of Japan, particularly those who have lost loved ones in the earthquake and tsunamis," Obama said in a written statement released by the White House early Friday.

"The United States stands ready to help the Japanese people in this time of great trial," added Obama, who has visited Japan twice as president. "The friendship and alliance between our two nations is unshakeable, and only strengthens our resolve to stand with the people of Japan as they overcome this tragedy."

I think "grabbing the reins" is waaay too direct for barama. Judging by his past actions, he prefers to manipulate, behind the scenes, and leave few fingerprints. "Grab the reins"? Naw, not gonna happen.

Golf doesn't to seem to be helping. No doubt we will have another multi-billion dollar presidential vacation international diplomatic trip coming soon.

I can see him now... at the coast line for a photo op.

This really showed how deeply he cared about our Gulf spill.

Maybe Malia will ask him "Did you plug the hole in the nuke yet Daddy?"

We could have a photo caption contest with this one.

Obama, personally helping clean up the shattered dreams and lives of the villagers of Japan, one fragment at a time.

Comment to article from observer:

I'm not sure if it is more dangerous for America that he do nothing or do something.

Generally, if you have a dysfunctional child who lights fires all over the neighborhood, it makes you happy when he is just sitting in the corner scribbling on paper.

Maybe we should just leave little Barry in the corner with his pencil and bracket sheet and count ourselves blessed.

You've heard of "laughing 'til it hurts?" What if it hurts before you start laughing?
