WestVirginiaRebel
The Hill:Nevada Republican Sharron Angle said she expects to talk to Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.) before deciding whether to challenge him in a primary. Angle came close to unseating Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (Nev.) last cycle. She's since remained in contact with Tea Party activists, who formed the core of her support. Angle was in Washington this week for the Conservative Political Action Conference."I've got many options and I'm not ruling out anything," she said when asked about a possible primary challenge to Ensign. "I haven't spoken to Sen. Ensign but I'm sure that we will speak."Ensign's poll numbers have taken a hit since he admitted in June 2009 to having an affair with the wife of one of his top aides. He's currently under investigation by the Senate Ethics Committee for allegedly helping the aide, Doug Hampton, land work as a lobbyist. Ensign recently told The Ballot Box that he's bracing for a tough primary -- although he's unsure who will challenge him."I don't know if it will be [Rep. Dean] Heller (R-Nev.), but we're expecting a primary challenge, sure," said Ensign, who started 2011 with about $225,000 in the bank, having had to spend hundreds of thousands of his campaign funds on legal bills. "Don't know who it will be, but you can't control that. I think most members are expecting primary challenges."Angle said came to CPAC to pay tribute to her supporters. "Here at CPAC I have been just thanking people for the great support they have given me from across the nation," she said.________Good grief. No wonder Dusty Harry stays in office. These two deserve each other...
