Ms. Michelle Obama sat in the small Nano and admired the engineering marvel. After the discussion on Saturday evening, Tata organised a gleaming Nano along with a chauffeur, right at the porch of luxurious Taj Mahal Palace hotel. The owner Ratan Tata, started with almost nothing and made it into the fourth largest medium & heavy truck company in the world. They purchased successful Daewoo[Korean] Truck in 2004, and in 2008, they purchased the Jaguar/Land Rover Motor Company, and then unveiled the newest model XF. The Nano was a special project by Tata & it's owner; just for India. They came up with the purchase price first, and then engineered it to fit the finances & the lifestyle of the average Indian consumer. The price established was exactly one year's average salary. On American roads, it's way too small in power & protection is woeful. It may never meet safety standards for the US; but in the exploding economy of India & other emerging nations, it would actually reduce traffic congestion, and allow more family travel.
