kevindavis
Did I hear Martha right that the exit polls showed that O'Donnell lost because the Republicans didn't vote for her??? They would rather have a self-described "bearded Marxist" represent them in the Senate?? Wow! O'Donnell was a moron. She had no clue whatsoever how to run a campaign. Her cat had a better chance of winning. Now I wonder what she is going to do with that campaign cash. People are on the other site are blaming you know who.. Ponder Ponder Ponder Chris Coons? Even so, it would make more sense to me to vote her in so that she can help to repeal Obamacare, extend the tax cuts, block Obama's socialist agenda, and then run a strong candidate against her in the '16 primaries. Are you a Delaware voter? No. But as a political scientist,I was watching this race closely.(Check my profile) O'Donnell could not probably not even find Washington D.C.if you showed her on a map. Al_Simmons
As Mark Levine was just saying, Rove doesn't get it. Goldwater's loss in '64 set the stage for Reagan. O'Donnell showed that the Delaware GOP could nominate a conservative. So the next one may well be seen as 'more qualified', but the point is, there WILL be a next one. And Karl Rove can go suck on lemons. Where's the "permanent GOP coalition" that you were touting in 2001-2002, Karl?
clearvision
Any surprises yet? Seems to be going about what is expected. Hoeven wins in N. Dakota pickup that was expected.

Republicans worldwide may now gloat that Ms. Christine went down in flames; and jump for joy, that Coons will now be immediately confirmed. Impressive political correctness from the Right. Geee
Fox just said Wisconsin is too close to call for senate or governor. That really shouldn't be folks If this election is stolen again there are going to be a lot of angry people here.

There is something Ed Koch once said (I paraphrase) if you agree with me 70% of the time vote for me, if you agree with me 100% of the time...Seek help. Point being waaay to many people on our side are willing to dump on one of the smartest political operators because he 1. disagreed with them on this (question: how many other tea party/Conservative candidate he supported and won?) 2. was right....she could not win. Remember it is about winning election. If you are the greatest candidate since sliced bread and can't win....what good does it do. Where's the "permanent GOP coalition" that you were touting in 2001-2002, Karl? It went to the same place as all silly statements go.

Al_Simmons
Oh horror, Blofeld - looks like we both used 'pompous' simultaneously. My Dad liked to say "great minds think alike" Oh, and BTW, I said nothing about being a JAG in this thread. Frankly my most meaningful work was in uniform was NOT as a JAG. I was not in a combat zone for a year as a JAG, but as the interpreter and unofficial advisor to a commanding US Army general. Since you asked. Geee
I am posting today's poem on two threads: We Made It Ron Atchison We made it. Despite the fear and predictions of doom. We made it. Even though there were days when we were tired and there were days when we forgot who we were. We made it. And we must thank the stars for this. And the birds for their beautiful songs. And the strangers who were careful to smile. We made it.
clearvision
Al_Simmons, Ernst, Let's knock it off and comment on the election. Rheo
Sylvia said that WA state has on the ballot, a tax the rich scheme.....raise taxes on indiv earning $250k and couples earning $400k....but they didn't mention that in 2 years, the legislature can extend it as it sees fit. pffft.
