Valin
Politico:ALEXANDER BURNS 9/24/10Democratic lawmakers and House candidates have released a flood of internal polling data in recent days, aimed at countering the perception that Republicans have the majority within their grasp and numerous Democratic-held seats are as good as gone. Some of the Democratic polls have shown highly vulnerable districts still winnable for the party. Other releases have hinted at the limits of the Republican target list, putting members in late-emerging races comfortably ahead of GOP challengers.(Snip)Democrats played down the timing of the new polls, and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Deputy Executive Director Jennifer Crider told POLITICO: “We are just making sure, heading into the stretch, that people understand where things really are.(Snip)
clearvision
Not that I trust any poll, but comparing internal polling to national polling firms seems a stretch.
Stella
Karl Rove was one of the last pundits to agree that there is a voter tsunami building. Unless something earth shattering happens, the die has been cast according to him. I trust Rove's polling more than a DNC poll.
AceRimmer
Are these real internal polls with likely voters, or just pap from adults? There's a big difference between the two, and I wouldn't be surprised if the RATS are running seperate polls in most of their races, and releasing the adult one that inflates their numbers. The only polls that are close to being believable, IMHO, are ones with likely voters. As the article suggests, this is about keeping the RAT base somewhat encouraged and more importantly, keeping the donations coming in.
