Seven important things to know about the GOP’s “Pledge”

House Minority Leader John Boehner of Ohio unveils the House Republican's budget solution during a news conference on Capitol Hill in Washington. So far this year, Congress has done what it does best _ spend a lot of money and make a lot of promises. Now, as lawmakers return from a two-week spring break, comes the hard part, the actual crafting of legislation that will change how banks are regulated, health care is delivered and the nation consumes energy.

House Speaker hopeful John Boehner, the current minority leader from Ohio, wanted his plan for governance – a remake of the 1994 “Contract with America” – to stay out of the press until Thursday morning. That didn’t happen.

House GOP aides sent angry internal e-mails to leadership staff, and the press had all afternoon and evening to pore over the 21-page document before Boehner and others roll out their “Pledge to America” at a hardware store in Sterling, Va.snip

3. Paul Ryan’s ideas are pointedly not included, and he isn’t attending the unveiling.

 

I don't like this part. I don't like all the in-fighting that is starting to occur with the GOP. Paul Ryan has an economics background and his input is important. IMHO He should be there. Parts of his roadmap where very well thought out.

 

These are just words unless all the new Republican who will hopefully be voted into the House are in total agreement. Even though the Democrats under Nancy Pelosi, tried to turn the House into a dictatorship, it is not one. The members of Congress have a long history is disappointing their constituents. Sometimes it seems they have more loyalty to the lobbyists than they have to the constituents.
