ErnstBlofeld
GeoStrategy Direct: The regime in Teheran has ordered the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization to expand the search for uranium ore over the next two years. Officials said the effort would ensure an independent source of uranium ore for conversion into nuclear fuel. "Only one-third of the country has been explored for uranium deposits," Iranian Atomic Energy Organization director Ali Salehi said. Salehi, who is also Iran's vice president, said the search for additional uranium deposits would become the priority of Teheran's nuclear program. He said the search would be launched after the delayed start-up of operations at the nuclear energy reactor in Bushehr, now scheduled for mid-September 2010.
