ErnstBlofeld
East Asia Intel: Iran has been secretly importing radioisotopes for medical use from China in a move that has raised concerns that the nuclear goods are being diverted by Teheran for its nuclear arms program, Japan's Sankei Shimbun reported last week. An intelligence source familiar with the Iran nuclear issue told the newspaper Aug. 29 that Iran is producing radioisotopes at a research reactor located in Teheran, and that the large volume imported from China has raised fears about diversion to arms work. A delegation from Iran visited China in the first half of 2010, and China agreed to supply radioisotopes at a pace of roughly 15,000 gigabecquerels per week over a six month period.
