U.S. intel: China using fronts to acquire U.S. components for Iran

The United States has assessed that China was acquiring American military technology for Iran.

Officials said the U.S. intelligence community has concluded that Beijing is operating fronts to acquire U.S. technology and components for Iran's military program. They said the dual-use equipment was believed to have been sent to bolster Iran and North Korea.

 

"The People's Republic of China operates a robust North American procurement program obtaining military technology and equipment that not only supports the People's Liberation Army but is provided to prohibited countries around the world," John Morton, director of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, said.
