It may be possible for the American electorate's skepticism and disgust with Congress to become deeper and more bitter, but I am at a loss to think of how that might happen.

But most people think Congress will find a way, according to the latest Rasmussen Reports survey!

Sixty two percent of the respondents agreed that "no matter how bad things are, Congress can always make them worse." Majorities agreed with that statement in all demographic and partisan groups, with even Democrats showing a 53 percent agreement figure.
