Geee
The Hill:Chicago mayor retires sparking talk about bid by Rahm EmanuelBy Jordan Fabian - 09/07/10 02:42 PM ETChicago Mayor Richard M. Daley (D) announced Tuesday he will not seek another term in office.Daley's decision has prompted speculation that White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel will leave his post and return to Chicago to run for mayor. Emanuel has openly spoken about his desire to run for mayor in the past. In April, he told television news host Charlie Rose that he hopes Daley seeks reelection, but if not, he would like to run for the position "one day.""I hope Mayor Daley seeks reelection. I will work and support him if he seeks reelection," Emanuel said. "But if Mayor Daley doesn't, one day I would like to run for mayor of the City of Chicago. That's always been an aspiration of mine even when I was in the House of Representatives."
