ErnstBlofeld
Geostrategy Direct: The United States has been testing an advanced radar for the F-15 fighter-jet. The U.S. Air Force has been testing a new radar for the F-15, deployed by several Middle East states, in cooperation with manufacturer Boeing. The active electronically-scanned array APG-82[V]1 radar was meant to replace the APG-70 radar. "One AESA-equipped F-15E can detect and track multiple targets simultaneously and gain the same battle picture and prosecute the same number of attacks that currently require several mechanically scanned radar assets," Brad Jones, Boeing director for U.S. Air Force development programs, said. "Adding AESA multiplies the effectiveness of the F-15E." Edited September 23, 2010 by Rheo snipped
