Washington Examiner:

Why should Dems worry? Bush’s book will save them.

Democrats in a panic over November’s elections should take heart, says Brent Budowsky. Why? Because former President George W. Bush is coming out with a book.

The publication date is Nov. 9. Here is what will happen:

The book will leak the week before the election….Voters will remember: It was a Republican president who initiated the bailout. It was Republican economics, championed by a Republican Congress, that caused the recession and created the curse of devastating unemployment. The bad memories will flow as details of the Bush book unfold in the days before the election.

I am no apologist for the shortcomings of the Democratic Party, but analyzing major trends, the most likely outcome is that Democrats retain control of both houses of Congress.

“Oh, yeah,” they’ll say. “Somehow, I had forgotten about what happened over the last ten years. Well, I guess now I’ll vote for the Democrat.” And they live happily ever after.

I have seen this 'hopeful' thinking on DU. My feeling is that how many people are going to have their opinion changed by a book excerpt? IMO only news junkies or political junkies are going to notice.

Of course the journolista's are going to do their thing, but we are the probably the only ones who will take notice. I don't know who the publisher is, but most of the leaks are provided by the publisher

so not all of the leaks will be damaging.(?) The actual book won't be released until the week following the election.

pollyannaish

You are absolutely right Casino67. And to be honest, I think the press really misunderestimates how people feel about the former President Bush.

And news/political junkies have pretty much already made up their mind.

So if the dems are putting their hopes and dreams on the back of book leaks.....*snort*.

Mr. Freddoso doesn't seem to very much in touch with the electorate. Like most liberals, he fails to notice that most voters are angry about Health Care "Reform" (All Zero), the "Stimulus" Package that did not stimulate (All Zero), and the economy, which is continuing to tank (Mostly Zero). Add that the war in Afghanistan is going poorly (Zero made it his own during the campaign).

I don't think that Dubya's book is going to make that much of a difference.

Dave Freddoso writes for the Washington Examiner and is NOT a liberal. I think he was being sarcastic in the piece.

This article is actually just paraphrasing what Budowsky said and mocking it, isn't he?

Here are some titles of that idiot Budowsky's columns.

Mean Katie Couric and crybaby Sarah Palin

Exposing Tea Party frauds

The lynching of Shirley Sherrod

I don't know what the source was for the DU'ers, but it was prior to this article. Of course, they will jump on any hint of hope. Knowing their history, it could have been totally made up. I want to see the D that is in trouble in the polls say "it's ok, Bush's book is coming out". :)

I thought he was being sarcastic for sure when I read the "happily ever after" line, but I think he was being serious and wrong when he said he thought the most probable outcome in November us that the House AND Senate remain democrat - that's the least probable scenario to me.
