WestVirginiaRebel Posted June 28, 2010 Share Posted June 28, 2010 FOX NEWS:Former Vice President Dick Cheney remains in a Washington D.C. hospital with a build-up of fluid that's related to his longstanding heart issues but his daughter says Cheney is feeling better and hopes that he’ll be released Monday.“I'm sure he'll deal with this situation the way he's dealt with everyone in the past which is to work with his doctors,” Liz Cheney said on Fox News Sunday.Mr. Cheney reportedly felt ill on Friday and doctors admitted the 69 year old for additional observation. Late Saturday Cheney's office released a statement saying he was experiencing a buildup of fluid related to his coronary artery disease."After receiving IV medication, the former Vice President is markedly improved. His physicians plan to discharge him in a day or so," the statement read.Cheney has a long history of health problems related to his heart. He's had four heart attacks dating back to 1978. His most recent one, described as mild, happened in February. In 2001, as vice president, Cheney had a pacemaker implanted in his chest. The device was eventually replace with another to improve blood flow to his heart.The National Institutes of Health describes coronary artery disease as "a condition in which plaque builds up inside the coronary arteries."
